  Most  problema=c  bacteria  related  to  Hospital  Acquired  Infec=ons  were  isolated  in  HVAC  and  NICU  air  grilles:  Acinetobacter,  Pseudomonas,  Staphylococcus  

  HVAC  microbial  contamina=on  (Bacteria  and  Fungi)  was  reduced  by  a  factor  of  >  5  Logs  

  Reduced  Ven=lator  Associated  Pneumonia  (VAP)  

  Reduced  an=microbial  use  

  Reduced  an=microbial  resistance  

  Reduced  morbidity  and  mortality  

  Reduced  Hospital  direct  costs  >  $800,000/annum

 Conclusions  from  Washington  DC  Hospital  Study  

  Most  problema=c  bacteria  related  to  Hospital  Acquired  Infec=ons  were  isolated  in  HVAC  and  NICU  air  grilles:  Acinetobacter,  Pseudomonas,  Staphylococcus  

  HVAC  microbial  contamina=on  (Bacteria  and  Fungi)  was  reduced  by  a  factor  of  >  5  Logs  

  NICU  air  diffuser  microbial  contamina=on  was  reduced  by  a  factor  of  >5  Logs  

  NICU  Chief  has  indicated  NICU  infec=ons  are  drama=cally  down  with  0    VAP  (Ven=lator  Associated  Pneumonia)  infec=ons  reported  in  past  27  months
