19 ‘baratis’ injuredin bus accident

RAJOURI, Feb 1: At least19 persons were injured, twoof them seriously when a buscarrying marriage party mem-bers skidded of the road andfell into a gorge near Bathunion Nowshera-Rajouri roadthis afternoon.

A police spokesman saidthat the mishap took place ataround 4.50 pm when themini-bus, bearing registrationNo. JK02H/9517 was carryingmembers of marriage partyfrom Dangri to Bathuni vil-lage. As it reached nearBathuni, the driver lost con-trol over the speeding vehicleand it rolled into a gorge.

While the driver escapedfrom the spot, the conductorRajesh Singh of Swari village

got injured and was also hos-pitalized along with otherinjured persons. Immediatelyafter the mishap, Army menfrom the nearby unit andpolice jawans led by SHORajouri Yash Jamwal andDySP Hqrs, Rajouri HamidChoudhary reached the spotand shifted 15 injured toDistrict Hospital Rajouriwhile four to Army Hospital.

Two seriously injured NekAlam, son of Mohd Hussainof Dassal and Imtiaz Ahmed,son of Mir Hussain ofBarthuni were referred toGMC Hospital Jammu. Someof the injured were dischargedafter providing first aid at dis-trict hospital. The police hastaken cognizance of the mat-ter.

rate road accidents in Sambadistrict today.

According to police twoMata Vaishno Devi pilgrimswho were on their way to holycave in their Collis car bear-ing number DL 4S AG 0786were seriously injured whentheir car was hit by anunknown truck from backside at National Highway nearNanke Chak this morning.

They were rushed bySapwal police to DistrictHospital Samba where fromdoctors referred them to GMCJammu for treatment as theircondition was critical.

Varinder Kumar andShakuntula Devi. Both wereresidents of Delhi. SapwalPolice has registered a case

Police said the Bolerobearing registration numberJK 02 AG 2033 hit the motorcycle bearing numberJK02AB 8053 and both thedriver of Bolero and twowheeler were seriouslyinjured.

JAMMU, Feb 1: JagtiTenement Committee (JTC)has expressed grave concernover delaying tactics adoptedby CAPD Department in send-ing the ration to Jagti camp intime with the result the campinmates are put to many hard-ships.
