The instructorsThe over 60s classes are run by experienced physiotherapists. They want to ensure that you not only take care of your body through preventative exercise with their expert guidance but that you also have fun in class and meet and make new friends.

Aims of classes®® To restore and maintain joint mobility

and strength.

®® To improve balance and co-ordination and reduce the risk of falls.

®® To reduce the risk of osteoporosis and fractures.

®® To have fun and provide a safe effective form of exercise.

®® To teach and advise on home exercise.

The classIntroduction to the class. These classes are designed for people of all fitness levels. Whether you were a professional sportsperson in a previous life, or someone who has never exercised, this class can help you perform your daily activities more comfortably.

Warm Up

A series of gentle exercises that take each joint through its comfortable range of movement.

Strength

Using hand weights, theraband and load bearing exercises to work the muscles.

Movement and balance

A specific series of exercises to improve balance and co-ordination.

Circuit

A variety of exercises to help overall health and fitness.

Stretch

As the class stretches, the physiotherapist will use this time to talk on topics such as arthritis, joint replacements, osteoporosis, back pain and joint stiffness.
