The Science of Grip - Footwear R&DAll Henri Lloyd technical yachting footwear has been designed from the sole up so you can be sure-footed on deck.

A sloping and moving deck surface awash with water is the proving ground for our sole technologies. The brief we set ourselves was to achieve the highest levels of grip on a range of deck surfaces, to do that we enlisted the help of UK

based testing experts SATRA. Here we tested a range of materials and tread patterns until we arrived at the Octogrip outsole.

The secret behind the grip lies in the precise combination of materials and patterns.

Firstly the bi-directional and flexible Octogrip blade acts like a windscreen wiper that cuts through

the surface tension of the water so ensuring the maximum amount of sole is in contact with the deck.

Secondly, the precise and permanent tread pattern with siping delivers friction and 360 degree grip whilst allowing water to disperse out of the pre-formed channels.

The flatter weave has less peaks and so dissipates abrasion over a wider surface. The smooth lining eliminates resistance by allowing the layers to slide effortlessly over each other, so making donning and doffing easier for you but it enhances comfort during wear also.

TECHNOLOGY AND SIZE GUIDE

QUALITY GUARANTEEThe attention to detail and quality control procedures during the manufacturing of our marine range ensures that Henri Lloyd garments are produced with the highest manufacturing integrity. However, on the rare occasions where a product is found to be defective due to faulty manufacture or materials, we promise to replace or repair free of charge at our discretion.

GARMENT CAREThe Henri Lloyd range uses a wide range of fabric technologies to ensure a high level of garment performance and comfort. To maintain the performance of the garment, please refer to the washing instructions printed on the label inside your garment. Use pure liquid soap only; do not use any fabric softeners or biological washing powders.

If you need any further assistance, please contact your local Henri Lloyd dealer or email Henri Lloyd customer services [email protected]. In between washing your sailing clothing, it is important to remember that salt is a desiccant and will attract moisture.

Consequently, all foul weather gear should be rinsed periodically using fresh water (if available) to prevent salt from accumulating. This will reduce the cold, clammy feeling when first putting the garment on and will significantly increase the level of comfort for the wearer. When you have finished using the garments and before stowing them away, ensure they are thoroughly dried. Do not use direct heat or leave exposed to strong sunlight when drying.

GARMENT REPAIRSThrough normal wear and tear, there are occasions when a garment may need repairing. Should this occur, we recommend the repair takes place as soon as possible to avoid any further damage. All garments sent for repair must be clean. Please include a note with your name, return address, daytime phone number or e-mail.
