GRADE 2 & 3 STUDENTS DESIGN SLOGANS TO SIGNIFY THE

IMPORTANCE OF “EARTH DAY”.

Earth Day began on April 22, 1970 and has been an important day

ever since. It is a time to come together and support environment’s

protection against pollution and deforestation. By taking part in

activities like picking up litter and planting trees, we are making our

world a happier and healthier place to live.

This year, Earth Day, April 22, 2018, is focused on ending plastic

pollution.

As part of the Earth Day, students of Grade 2 and 3 watched a

video about saving water and energy, recylcling, in order to make

the Earth a better place to live in. The students designed slogans on

the same , depicting the importance of keeping the Earth clean and

saving Mother Earth.

Students of the environment committee conducted an awareness

programme about the importance of Earth Day during the school

assembly.

All the non essential lights were turned off from 8:45 am to 9:00am.

On Wednesday 25th of April, students of Grade 2 and 3 took a

pledge to “Save Our Earth” during the class assembly of Grade 3G

and 3H.
