“I chose UC Santa Cruz for its reputation and location. The faculty here are top-notch, and UC Santa Cruz has one of the top-tier computer science departments in the U.S. It’s also very close to Silicon Valley. I had a web programming course that was co-taught by the Director of Engineering at Yahoo, along with a professor who just came back from three years of working at Google. I’ve also seen a lot of wonderful guest speakers from computer companies in Silicon Valley.”
Advice for international students: “I’ve never had any troubles at UCSC, so all I would say is, be sure to establish good relationships with professors. That is extremely important. Other than that, just enjoy UCSC: It will be an unforgettable experience!”
