Title : Sales & Supply Chain Warehouse

Client : Digital Sales Corporation, USA

Designation : ETL Developer.

Role : Team Member

Description :

Digital Sales Corporation put its transaction data online using an OLTP system.

The transactions are captured at the point of sales, one row of transaction table is used

for each purchased item. Digital sales Corp. has 100 stores in different regions of USA,

with average of 1000 customers per store. Each customer averages 5 items per

transaction. Thus, 500000 rows added to the digital sales database every day. Digital

sales turn the data into decisions and launched a data warehouse project

The transaction system and data warehouse are using Oracle 8i as RDBMS.

DataStage is used to extract data from non store data that was stored in the flat files. The

star schema model consists of Transaction Fact table with Dimensions namely Customer,

Product, Store, Region and Time.

Responsibilities:

Involved in Data Acquisition Process to populate the Dimension

Tables from different source systems like flat files (.txt, .CSV),

Oracle 8i, SQL Server.

Used the DS Designer to develop server jobs for extracting,

cleansing, transforming, integrating, and loading data into Oracle

Data warehouse.

Used Hash files (for Lookups), Link Partitioner and Link Collector

to improve performance of large scale sequential files in the server

jobs

Used the DS Director to validating, running, and monitoring the

Server Jobs designed in DS Designer

Worked with DS Manager for importing metadata to repository

and exported the DataStage components based on other project

demands, performed usage analysis to understand the dependency

of the different DataStage components.

Description :

Customer, product, agents and transactions will organize the data according to

the requirements of the organization. The main process that is performed is Extraction,

Transformation and Loading. This system is used to perform Policy formulating, claim

processing. The console application, which is part of this system, does the month end and

the day end processes apart from performing regular database maintenance. The

reporting tools provide on demand reports to business users who use the information to

study service usage patterns, design more competitive, cost effective services, and

improve customer service.

Responsibilities:

Used the Expression andAggregator transformations to summarize the volume

of the Day/Month/Year.

While developing jobs I used different stages like sequential file, hashed file,

transform stage, ODBC stage, aggregator stage, sorter stage etc.

Analyzing the log files and bugs verifying.

Used the Data stage Designer to build complex jobs for extracting and

transforming the data.

Used the Data stage Director and its run time engine to create batches, clear

status files, clear log files and schedule the jobs.

Description:

Cendant Hotels is integrating data from Ramada group of hotels into its data warehouse

for decision support purposes. As part of that source data from Ramada system needs to

be loaded to existing Cendant Hotels data warehouse structure. Ramada data needs to be

cleansed prior to data loading. As part of the effort daily currency feeds need to be

maintained.

Responsibilities:

Understanding existing business model and customer requirements. Created Jobs between Source and Target using Ascential Data StageDesigner . Created and scheduled many sequential & concurrent batches to group the

jobs to run at same time. Loaded data into target database from source database using Data StageDirector .

Title : Distributed Factory Management System (DFMS)Client : Ramson Industries Pvt Ltd.

Description:

This product has different modules like Production, Sales, Purchases, Marketing and Cash

Management. In Sales module, Customer has to make enquiry for products, which are

available in company, and then he/she has to send Enquiry form to company. And

company will prepare quotation for required products. If Customers are accepts those

quotation then they should send Sales order form with any modifications in previous

corresponding enquiry form. That gives the finally wanted products with quantities.

Company prepares the dispatch form and delivery those products. Lastly company should

prepare Invoice for delivered products.
