The Garda is a high output, low content, extruded aluminium radiator, sectional in manufacture, supplied with a bracket

pack comprised of wall fixing brackets, plugs, bushes and an air vent.

Where an intermediate sized radiator is required, additional sections can be purchased and added or removed as necessary by the installer.

Joining nipples, gaskets and an assembly tool must be purchased separately.

moisture is continually created through bathing and washing. Zehnder

extract fans have been designed to eliminate condensation and

improve the general air quality within the home by extracting stale air

of fans has been created to complement current bathroom and

1Energy efficiency

The ZSR100 costs under half a penny a day to operate; between

0.025p (9 minute usage) and 0.42p (2.5 hour usage) depending on the

over-run timer setting. In addition to this, it only consumes 13 Watts of

energy per hour.

3Silence

A major concern for home owners is the level of noise produced from

standard ventilation, particularly in the bathroom where relaxation

and a sanctuary atmosphere is so important. Taking account of this,

The diagram below shoes a bathroom divided into four clear zones: 0, 1, 2 and outside zones.

Please note, the diagram is only a guide and is NOT to scale. Please refer to I.E.E Wiring

Regulations (BS 7671:2008) for detailed information.

Zone 0: Inside the bath

Zone 1: Area above bath / shower tray to a height of 2.25m.

Minimum rating of IPX4 should be used unless water spray

will be present. In this case, a rating of IPX5 should be

used.

Zone 2: Area stretching 0.6m from zone 1. Minimum

rating of IPX4 should be used here.

Outside Zones: No water spray is likely to be used here,

therefore, no IP rating is required.

IP Rating: “X” denotes level of security against dust

particles. Second digit denotes level of “watertightness”.

Notes on Condition of Sale

1. Please check that the product is the correct model, finish

and colour prior to installation as it cannot be returned after it

has been installed or used.

2. Re-stocking charges and conditions apply: 25% plus £10

administration per item. Re-stocking of products will only be

accepted within 3 months of date of despatch if in re-saleable

condition in the original packaging.

3. Bespoke products are non-returnable.

4. Minimum order value for free delivery: £100 net. Order

values of less than £100 net: £7.50 carriage.

5. All measurements given are nominal dimensions only.

6. Other than the Fare and aluminium radiators (RAL 9010),

the standard white finish is RAL 9016.

10. Zehnder steel radiators have a 5 year warranty, aluminium

and stainless steel radiators have a 10 year warranty and

electrical elements a 2 year warranty. Extractor fans have a

3 year warranty.

of those (warranties and guarantees) and our terms and

conditions.

12. Central heating radiators must have been installed

according to Part L regulations. A chemical water treatment

inhibitor must be used to protect the system. (See note 2 of

installation guidelines adjacent.)

Notes on Installation and Operating Guidelines

1. Never install an item containing steel parts (except for

stainless steel) on an open circuit.

2. When new or additional radiators are being installed,

the system should be drained, cleaned and flushed in

accordance with BS7593. To comply with Part L of the

current Building Regulations, a good quality chemical water

treatment inhibitor should be added to the heating system to

protect against corrosion, scale and sludge.

3. Artificially softened water should not be used to fill

radiators.

4. If a product is to be installed on an open (Domestic

Hot Water) circuit, check with your local water authority to

ensure that dezincification is not a common occurrence.

5. With dual energy products, simultaneous use of

the electrical facility with the central heating is not

recommended. This will damage the electric element and

invalidate the warranty.

6. A 1 metre (approx. 3ft) clearance is required between

the bottom of the header tank and the top of the radiator in

gravity fed systems.

7. The company recommends that, where applicable, all

electrical work undertaken is in accordance with current

I.E.E. wiring regulations.

Terms and Conditions

To help you select the right radiator for your room follow the

simple guide below:

1. Calculate the volume of the room by multiplying the height,

width and length to get the volume in cubic metres.

2. For bedrooms, hallways and kitchens allow 40watts per cubic

metre, and multiplying the total by 40, and for bathrooms, living

and dining rooms, multiply the total by 50. This will give the

output required in watts.

Example: A bedroom 3.6m long x 3m wide x 2.4m high has a

volume of 25.92cubic metres. Multiply this by 40 to get 1036

watts.

3. If the room has large windows or exposed walls, increase the

total by 10%.

How do I select the correct size radiator for a room?

4. Select the appropriate sized radiator for the output required.

Always choose the next size up if the exact output is not

available. Allow more length and less height for radiators under

a window

To convert watts to Btu’s, multiply by 3.412. (Use 50Δt output

for use with condensing boilers).

We recommend that a qualified heating engineer or plumber

be consulted for accurate assessment of heating needs, and

that valves be used for the positive control of the radiators,

in accordance with the current building regulations for the

conservation of fuel and power.
