Jamara Royle Using Photoshop – Image Manipulation Creating my magazine cover, contents and double page spread I used Photoshop I didn’t really used image manipulation to change anything apart form to make the main image super impose over the masthead like so on the right. 1. First of all you get your image set up in the position you want it and make sure you have selected your image 2. You then get select the quick selection tool and begin to highlight the top of the subject’s heads. You might have to press the eye button to hide the masthead so you can see you have selected the full head. 3. You them duplicate the layer and get rid of the background of the duplicate. 4. Then get rid of unnecessary white space (if any) round the head with the rubber tool. 5. You then match it up with the original photo and then make sure the layer is over the masthead layer and then you are free to do everything else on your magazine.

By doing this I wanted to make my magazine look more professional as many magazines have the band or artist on the front cover usually in front of the masthead, so by doing this I added a bit of professionalism.
