USER’S GUIDE TO INSTALL THE CDF PLAYER To interact with the math games, you will first need to download the free Wolfram CDF player. Here is the link to this website: http://www.wolfram.com/cdf-‐player/ Note that if you already have the CDF Player, you can also check here to verify that you have latest version of the CDF Player. For Mac Users, you may check to see that you have Mac OS X 10.6+ on your computer. Click on the “apple icon” in the upper left corner and press “About this Mac.” The browsers that are supported on this hardware platform are: Safari, Foxfire, Chrome and Opera. For Windows users, you may check to see that you have Windows 8/7/Vista/XP. The browsers that are supported on this hardware platform are: Internet Explorer, Foxfire, Chrome, Opera and Safari. You will need to answer a brief question and give your email address. Then press the red button: START DOWNLOAD
The next screen has an optional entry to elaborate your intended use, perhaps type “Interactive web site” and then press “send.”
Check your download folder on your computer to verify the CDF Player download; my download file is called “CDF_9_0_1_OSX.dmg.” Click on this download file to complete the installation on the computer. There will be a pop-‐up window indicated that the file is opening. You will them see this pop-‐up window:
You will then double-‐click the icon to start the installation of the CDF player.
Press “Continue” in the lower right corner of the window. The “Standard Install” window should appear, giving you the space requirements.:
Press “Install” in the lower right corner of the window. You may need to type in the password on your computer to be able to install.
You will then get this screen, indicating that the installation was successful.
Close out on this installation application by pressing the “close” button in the lower right corner of this window.
Finally, verify that you can move the blue button on the gray slider and manipulate the object. Go to http://www.math-‐place.com and click on “Programs” to interact with the math modules.
