O.P. JINDALGLOBAL UNIVERSITY

O.P. Jindal Global University (JGU) is a non-profit global university established by the Government of Haryana and recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC). JGU was established as a philanthropic initiative of its Founding Chancellor, Mr. Naveen Jindal in memory of his father, Mr. O.P. Jindal. JGU is one of the few universities in Asia that maintains a 1:9 faculty-student ratio and appoints faculty members from India and different parts of the world with outstanding academic qualifications and experience. JGU is a research intensive university, which is deeply committed to its core institutional values of interdisciplinary and innovative pedagogy; pluralism and rigorous scholarship; and globalism and international engagement.

JGU has established eight schools: Jindal Global Law School (JGLS), Jindal Global Business School (JGBS); Jindal School of International Affairs (JSIA); Jindal School of Government and Public Policy (JSGP); Jindal School of Liberal Arts & Humanities (JSLH); Jindal School of Journalism & Communication (JSJC); Jindal School of Art & Architecture (JSAA) and Jindal School of Banking & Finance (JSBF). JGU has been granted with “Autonomy” by the University Grants Commission and the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India, for receiving the “A” Grade from the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). This makes JGU the only private university in the state of Haryana and one of the only two private universities in India to be given the status of autonomy.

JGU has made history by breaking into the QS World University Rankings 2020. We are also the only Indian private university in the top 150 ‘young’ universities in the world (under 50 years of age) in the QS Young University Rankings 2020. JGU is the youngest University in the world to feature in both these rankings. In September 2019, JGU was selected as an ‘Institution of Eminence’ (IOE) by the Government of India, making JGU one of only eight private universities in India to be awarded this status.

Welcome to the Jindal Global Business School, JGBS! As part of the award-winning JGU campus, world-class infrastructure and facilities come with the territory. As do a network of global partner institutions spanning five continents. Our programmes – from the BBA (Hons.), Integrated BBA (Hons.) + MBA and MBA to the PhD – all are focused on training the mind and building skills for the workplace – national and global.

Pedagogical experimentation and innovation is a continuous feature at JGBS. As B-schools around the world experiment to keep abreast with technology and new generation learning habits, we are undergoing a conscious drive to make most of our classrooms experiential.

Entrepreneurship and innovation are central to our approach. Our brand new incubation centre, the Startup JGU Innovation Lab, forms the nucleus of this effort not just for the school but for the entire campus.

JGBS is a happening place. Make time to visit us. It may just change your life, forever.

BACHELOR OF

My time at JGBS was pretty exciting. I got to make some amazing friends, met some erudite professors and I got the opportunity to learn holistically. The business school has a lot to offer- when I say this, I don’t just mean the general business subjects, but, also subjects which help you develop personally. The faculty is very supportive and understanding and I can say this from my personal experience; Anything I had a doubt with, my career, subjects, some research, I could just make an appointment and get all my doubts cleared. The campus life is also lively. With events happening all year round, sports, food court and all other places you can visit inside and outside campus, one can never get bored!

Students learn about the business world through the knowledge of history, governance, society, economy, and climate. The idea is to provide students the prerequisites to effectively pursue the management core courses. Alongside, the young learners are able to gain insights on communication, quantitative techniques, and human behaviour analysis. After the 1st year, students participate in compulsory summer internships in renowned companies.

Students pursue core management courses related to finance and accounting, operations and logistics, marketing and strategy, information systems, organization behaviour, and human resource management. After the 2nd year, students participate in compulsory summer internships in renowned companies.

Students choose electives from business domains and from the other schools at JGU.

I chose Jindal Global Business School for the learning experience and international exposure. I love the course that I’ve chosen (IBM) as it gives me a good sense of advance business administration. After graduation, I see myself establishing my own startup in sales. I believe that the university’s guest lectures by industry experts will prepare me for this.

I chose O.P. Jindal Global University after getting to know that its curriculum and research-based pedagogy was on par, if not superior, to universities I had applied to in the UK. I feel privileged to be a part of the University. I want to see myself happy and transform into someone that I myself would hire.

Studying at Nottingham Trent University, UK for a whole year as an exchange student has been a one-of-a-kind experience. My greatest pleasure has been making strong friendships with other international students. On the academic front, it has been both challenging and rewarding having to adapt to different methods of assessment and teaching styles. I want to thank Jindal Global Business School for giving me such a great opportunity.

O.P. Jindal Global University (JGU) follows the Harvard model, and the teaching methodology is highly conducive to learning. Going to the University of New Brunswick, Canada for a semester was an eye-opening experience. I have come back with friends from several countries, and have also gained a wider perspective on life.

The University of Würzburg, Germany helped me to develop into a well-rounded person. I have grown through the experiences socially, academically, spiritually, professionally, and otherwise. The unique teaching style of each professor has helped us to come into our own as individuals.

Coming to Kelley School of Business, Indiana University, US has been a huge learning experience. Though I’m on an exchange programme, the level of difficulty is the same as that for students studying here full-time. Being exposed to different ideas and perspectives has broadened my own views. JGBS has been very supportive with the Study Abroad Programme. The faculty members guided me throughout the process and helped me make the right choices in terms of which university to choose. I’m very grateful for their help.

I’m at the University of National and World Economy, Bulgaria for 6 months on a scholarship from JGBS. The experience has been absolutely amazing and I’ve learnt so much. It’s also made me realize that the pedagogy at UNWE is similar to that of JGBS. I didn’t need time to adjust to it at all! It’s truly been an honor to be part of a community that will produce future business leaders. I’m so thankful to JGBS, not only for giving me the chance to study abroad, but for teaching me everything I know and for helping me grow.

Studying at Bond University, Australia through O.P. Jindal Global University’s Study Abroad Programme has been a dream come true. I’ve gained so much knowledge about the Australian culture and the world through my friends and faculty. It’s been a journey of self-discovery and personal growth filled with unforgettable memories. I’m so glad I decided to do my undergraduate studies from Jindal Global Business School. Right from the curriculum and faculty to sports and infrastructure facilities, it offers the best to students. I feel ‘accomplished’ after being a part of JGBS.

REGULAR PLACEMENTS / INTERNSHIP COMPANIES

I interned with the start-up WeWork during Summer 2019. Working with a start-up helped me develop my strength areas and focus on my skill set. Here I could put my abilities into actual practice. I was assigned various tasks and responsibilities by the Brand and Marketing team. I learnt to appreciate the value of teamwork and being consistent in achieving the desired results. It has been a rigorous learning experience - one that will surely help me in future!

With Ernst & Young, the topic of my internship was Indirect Taxation (GST). I did Summer Training with Deloitte Haskins & Sells in ‘Business Tax Department of Tax Practice’. Then I did Winter Training in ‘Limited Review in Manufacturing Sector (Auditing)’ with BSR & Co. LLP (KPMG). I also pursued Social Internship with Chintan Environmental Research and Action Group on the ‘No child in trash’ program. In all, I have participated in four internship programs while finishing the second year at B-School. It has been a truly inspiring experience!

JGBS is a leading business school that seems to walk the talk. My son has had a good experience till now, and he is very happy with life at the B-School. As a parent, I feel, it is essential to consider a few things like the quality of the faculty team, the food, and the hostel facilities while selecting the right university for the child.
