Prof. M.C. Sharma is an established scholar who has worked extensively in the areas of constitutional jurisprudence; law, political economics and development; law, politics and democracy; poverty and human rights jurisprudence. As a full-time member of the Law Commission of India, Prof. Sharma contributed phenomenally in the evolution of national legal policy framework on issues of contemporary importance. Prof. Sharma’s publication ‘Democratization, Globalization and Distributing Justice’ in 2015 and his recent work ‘The Foreign Investor and the Host Nation: Investor-State Arbitration- An Analysis’ have been widely acclaimed.

Prof. Sharma has a Doctorate in Juridical Sciences (SJD) from Northwestern University Law School, U.S.A. He has been the full-time member of the Law Commission of India. He has been the founder Vice Chancellor of Central University of Haryana, Vice Chancellor of National Law University of Bhopal, Former Vice Chairperson of University Grants Commission, Policy Research Advisor (2011-2012) to the Hon’ble President of India, Research Advisor to National Human Rights Commission of India, and Senior Research Advisor at the Ford Foundation of India.
