    We face a technological revolution; we see a global spread of computers andtelecommunications. These new technologies pose new paradigms revolutionizing the

    world of school and higher education.Education is an integral part of new technologies and this is as well that a

    growing number of universities around the world are demanding e-literacy as arequirement in their entrance exams and graduation, considering it a main objectiveto prepare future professionals for the digital age in the workplace. Most institutionsof higher education have a greater or lesser extent, to computers that allow Internetaccess to students. Thus, academics, even those who do not have economic problems

    at home with computers, can access a world that was previously exclusive to theaffluent classes, taking the opportunity to visit museums and free access toknowledge. It is in this sense, the role of university professor is crucial: The more weinculcate in the students the possibility of using new technology, the wider the worldthat works for them and having the opportunities to find work. The Information andCommunication have helped to bring the whole world of communication, facilitatingnetworking among individuals and institutions worldwide, and eliminating barriers in

    space and time. Are called Information Technology and Communication to the set oftechnologies that enable the acquisition, production, storage, processing,communication, recording and presentation of information in the form of voice,images and data contained nature of acoustic signals, optical or electromagnetic .

    Estas nuevas tecnologas plantean nuevos paradigmas, revolucionanel mundo de la escuela y la enseanza superior.La educacin es parte integrante de las nuevas tecnologas y eso estan as que un nmero cada vez mayor de universidades en todo elmundo est exigiendo la alfabetizacin electrnica como uno de losrequisitos en sus exmenes de acceso y de graduacin, por

    considerar que es un objetivo esencial preparar a los futurosprofesionales para la era digital en los centros de trabajo. Lamayora de las instituciones de educacin superior cuentan, enmayor o menor medida, con equipos informticos que posibilitan elacceso a Internet de los alumnos. As, los universitarios, inclusoaquellos que por problemas econmicos no cuentan con

    computadores en sus hogares, pueden acceder a un mundo queantes era exclusivo de las clases pudientes, teniendo la oportunidadde visitar museos y accediendo a conocimientos disponiblesgratuitamente. Es en este sentido, que el papel del profesoruniversitario es fundamental: Cuanto ms se inculque en losuniversitarios la posibilidad de utilizar las nuevas tecnologas, ms

    La Tecnologas de la Informacin y Comunicacin han permitidollevar la globalidad al mundo de la comunicacin, facilitando lainterconexin entre las personas e instituciones a nivel mundial, y

    eliminando barreras espaciales y temporales.Se denominan Tecnologas de la Informacin y las Comunicacin alconjunto de tecnologas que permiten la adquisicin, produccin,almacenamiento, tratamiento, comunicacin, registro y presentacinde informaciones, en forma de voz, imgenes y datos contenidos enseales de naturaleza acstica, ptica o electromagntica. Las TICsincluyen la electrnica como tecnologa base que soporta eldesarrollo de las telecomunicaciones, la informtica y el audiovisual.

    Pensamos que la capacitacin del docente es una necesidad. Losgobiernos, las instituciones educativas y de formacin debenpriorizar una preocupacin cada vez ms aguda, conforme avanza elmundo de la tecnologa: La formacin del profesorado. Sin embargo

    es comn que muchas capacitaciones de educadores se conviertanen actividades de aprendizaje de herramientas para la produccinde contenidos pedaggicos. Aunque el uso de tecnologa le da a esteproceso un aire de novedad, lo cierto es que frecuentemente estasmetodologas o formas de abordaje no hacen ms que reiterar elcarcter instruccionista de la pedagoga tradicional, que contempla
