'Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and he shal l strengthen thine heart: wait , I say, on the Lord, "Psalm 27:14
(WAIST GUNNER)- Captain, reporting heavy damage. An-dersen's out of it. An ME-109 was lucky.
(CO-PILOT)- I've taken over. Cockpit riddled. Captain injured.
The Betty Grable is on her 13th WW2 mission. Will this weary scarred B-17 bomber reach the target & return home? In a movie theater, this question is usually an-swered in about Two hours.
(NAVAGITOR) - Within the target area.
(BOMBADIER) - 3-2-1 and bombs away.
(CO-PILOT) - Lost #4 was on fire. One inboard with low oil pressure. Fuel is low.
It does not look good for the Betty Grable. We are taunt in our comfy seats. Fingers are crossed our crew will make the long journey through unfriendly skies to safety. Betty has made it before and she should again, but there are some terrifying moments ahead.
(BETTY G.) - Control Tower, on two engines. Have wounded. Landing gear may be damaged. Fuel gone.
((Control) - Copy, emergency strip cleared. Good luck.
(inspired by the movie TWELVE O'CLOCK HIGH)
I can identify with the BETTY G. The years are beginning to show wear and tear on my covering (skin). I no longer look youthful, except in spirit. The landing gear (my legs) can't do their job as well anymore. I try not to run and run like I was a youngster again. This is long past. I try to stay on level ground and avoid too many hills; mountain climbing is out
of the picture.
The enemy has made several "runs" on me. At times, I wanted to walk (fly) away and bow to the "I'm just human." But something always whispers in my ear "be strong, be courageous for I am with you."
So far, I have been a winner. I am nearing the target (threescore and ten). I think of home (heaven) often. Many loved ones, friends are waiting for me with smiles and breathless hugs. Do we breathe in heaven?
I am working to take many with me eventually (co-pilot and crew). I have encouraged others and try to lend silent comfort in times of joy and sadness. I need your help and assistance & prayers to aid me in reaching the heavenly home. There are many forces determining if the journey will be bumpy and not a smooth ride. We must remain alert and not sleep lest the enemy take advantage, wound us and cause us to fail. Constant training (Bible study) must be our sword and shield. We have many examples before us this can be done.
O thinks of the Home over there, By the side of the river of light,
Where the saints all immortal and fair are robed in their gar-ment of white.
O think of the saints over there, who before us the journey have trod, Of the songs that they breathe on the air, in their home in the place of God.
I’ll soon be at home over there, there the saved and the saints are at rest; All the saints and the Angels up there are watch-ing and waiting for me. (Sacred Selections)

Keys to Overcome the World
Revelation 12: 7-10
In Revelation, there is a lot of figurative language and many difficult
symbols. Because of that we often avoid reading the book. But in it are some great Bible helps. One of
them is found in chapter 12, where we learn how Christians are to overcome the world.
To preface what is going on, in verses 7-10 we read about war breaking out in heaven, and Michael
and his angels fighting with the dragon and his followers. We see that the dragon did not prevail, did
you catch this? The dragon (devil, Satan) did not prevail and he was cast out of heaven. Because of this,
Satan (the dragon) roamed the earth persecuting and tempting God’s people. Then, in verse 11, we read
what the Christians possessed to overcome Satan and his worldly ways: “And they (Christians) overcame
him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the
death.” In this passage are the three keys to overcoming the world. Let’s examine them in a little more
detail.
The Blood of the Lamb. We need to remember
what Jesus did to make salvation possible. It is
only because of His sacrifice upon the cross that
we have the opportunity of salvation in the first
place. To many times we do not trust enough of
our lives to Jesus. The first key to overcoming the
world is giving Jesus all of our lives and trusting in
Him and the power of His blood, come what may.
This begins with our baptism into Him and
continues through a life of faithfulness.
The Word of Their Testimony. Not only did the
early Christians trust Jesus, but they knew and
lived His word. The word of our testimony is the
everlasting gospel of Jesus Christ. We must love
it, learn it, live it, and laud it. By doing so, we
gain the knowledge and encouragement
necessary to overcome the world and its sinful
ways. We can only gain this through serious
Bible study.
They Did Not Love Their Lives to the Death. The
final key we must examine is that of separating
oneself from the world. Nothing on this earth is
to be so precious to us that we are not willing to
give it up for the cause of Christ (our lives
included), and we show it in our attitudes and
actions.
Are you having trouble overcoming the world
or the temptations of the world? Maybe it’s
because you have not put enough trust in Jesus.
Maybe it’s because you do not read and live His
word enough. Maybe it’s because you do not
separate yourself enough from the lost world and
worldly ways. That’s how the first century
Christians did it—and if we are to overcome, that
is how we will do it also.

Ten Things You Should Never Do With Your Nose
• Look down it at somebody (the sin of
pride).
• Stick it into someone else’s business (the
sin of meddling).
• Pick it (the sin of self-destructive behav-
ior).
• Get it out of joint (the sin of anger).
• Cut it off to spite your face (the sin of bit-
terness).
• Pay through it (the sin of materialism).
• Not see beyond it (the sin of selfishness).
• Be hard nosed (the sin of stubbornness).
• Thumb it at someone (the sin of rude-
ness).
• Turn it up at others (the sin of haughti-
ness).
Rather, let’s keep our noses clean, keep
our noses to the grindstone of God’s busi-
ness, and keep our noses in the Bible!
