Introduction / IntroducciónThis guide was created to help Latinos in El Barrio, NYfind resources available to help with many of life’sissues, especially health care. Many East HarlemLatinos do not have health insurance or a personalhealthcare provider, which leads to using theemergency room for healthcare needs. Researchshows that not having a doctor that takes care of youon a regular basis results in poor health outcomes. Ourhope is that this guide will help you connect to theservices you need so that you can have a healthy,happy life.

As you use the guide, we recommend that you call theorganization for more information and to confirm thatthe services you are seeking are still available at thatlocation. Services offered at organizations oftenchange and you can save time by ensuring you can findwhat you need at the organization you have selected.

We have organized the guide into different sections tohelp you find the services you need.
