The Chip Nut modular nut welding electrode is designed as a direct replacement for common GH-Series welding electrodes. The chip inserts, with Class 11 copper-tungsten faces, can be replaced quickly and easily at a lower cost than replacing the entire electrode. The modular assembly does not increase weld face height. The Chip Nut is compatible with both the Best Pin™ durable ceramic- coated steel and Doceram’s full-ceramic lines of weld pins. Each Chip Nut assembly comes with three chip inserts. Contact us ([email protected]) for custom and imperial configurations.

The Best Pin™ is the finest ceramic-coated weld pin on the market. The insulative ceramic coating has a true metallurgical bond with the D2 steel core — It won’t chip or flake like sprayed or dipped ceramic coated pins. The Best Pin outlasts comparable anodized stainless steel and KCF coun-terparts and eliminates the need for insulative sleeves within nut welding electrodes. At a fraction of the cost of pure ceramic pins, the Best Pin is extremely cost-effective for short run custom batches as well as high-volume stocks.Free samples are available upon request — Contact us for a request form.

Due to the strict control of our processes, they are manufactured with high quality and uniformity. The stock is manufactured at the Tenacity Works Mexico CDMX facility, starting with casting, through forging and finally precision grinding to guarantee a flat finish. We are able to make barstock to our customers’ needs, with variables including rough-forged or cast forming, semi-machined and 100% machined either in Class 1, Class 2 or Class 3 alloys.
Refractory Metal StockTWM refractory bars (often known as elkonite, etc.) are manufactured via sintering, which ensures that the materials archieve the physical, chemical and mechanical properties for which they are designed. We have a wide variety of sizes, shapes (rectangular, round and square) in different alloys:CL10 Class 10 – 55W 45CuCL11 Class 11 – 75W 25CuCL12 Class 12 – 80W 20Cu100M Molybdenum
The refractory materials produce dense, hard metals of superior wear resistance and strength at elevated tempera-tures, with good thermal and electrical conductivity. The mechanical and physical properties of these materials make them particularly suitable as the die inserts and fac-ings for volume projection welding, flash and butt welding, upset, electroforging and mash welding applications.
These materials are also used successfully as facing on spot welding electrodes where heat balance or mechani-cal wear resistance are required. The initial premium cost of these refractory metals is offset by lower production cost per weld due to long tool life and less electrode dressing time. the high stability of these materials insures uniform heating and prevents misalignment, resulting in a higher quality weld.

NVS G-SERIES
NVS G-Series (Nut Verification System)The ProLine Nut Verification System is much more than simply a pin return unit. The NVS is the leading inline nut weld detection system in the projection welding industry.
By monitoring the weld pin position, the NVS minimizes issues with missing, wrong size, and upside-down nuts and out-of-spec weld set-downs. Bad welds can cost much more than materials alone: Welding errors affect throughput, consistency and end-product quality. The NVS G-Series adds a graph-ic user interface and a host of advanced programming options, including binary outputs and in-puts, to the classic NVS to refine nut weld detection.
The new interface also allows for easy visual monitoring and fast and intuitive profile programming — new fastener setups take one minute to set up.The Nut Verification System can ensure quality using standard or custom weld pins on many styles of welders for most applications
in manual or robotic weld cells. The system can also serve as a Stud Verification System in stud welding cells.
The NVS is available in a horn-mount version (pictured right)and a platen mount unit (pictured below left).

Easy “Teaching”
The teach function is a fast step-by-step setup guide that walks the user through each stage of the schedule, using approved projections, stampings and welded parts. Profile program-ming can be completed in less than a minute.
Fastener Profiles
The NVS G-Series allows users to program, name and store up to 10 separate weld profiles at one time. Users can recall a weld profile with just a few button presses for fast switching between fasteners.
Binary Input/Output
The binary input lets a PLC change the NVS profile automatically, allowing systems with mul-tiple stamping thicknesses or fasteners to utilize the quality assurance of the NVS on every weld. With the binary output feature, the NVS can au-tomatically set the matching weld schedule on the weld control, saving duplicate set-up time.
Data Logging
Every stage reading from every weld can be stored on a USB drive in .CSV file format, readable by common spreadsheet programs. Use the data to examine weld issues, archive production information or analyze trends and identify gradual changes before they become costly issues.

The NVS monitors pin position during the weld cycle (refer to the chart above):
L1 The pin-up stage ensures the pin is in the start position and gives the feeder permission to feed.
L2 The set-up stage is a precise window that gauges nut orientation, presence and nuts, bolts or stamp-
ings out of tolerance.
L3 The set-down stage measures the nut height after the weld is made. The difference between L2 and
L3 is the amount the nut or bolt collapsed into the stamping.
L4 The pin-retract stage ensures that the pin is below the threshold of the lower electrode, protected
during stamping movements. The LVDT sensor has an accuracy of 0.0029 in. (0.075 mm), and the meter has a resolution of 0.0000078 in. (0.002 mm).

TEST STANDS
A simple push-out test stand helps fabricators ensure the quality of their finished nut-welded parts. This system works in both nut- and stud-welding setups, exerting up to 10,000 lbs. (4,500 kg) of force using a hand-operated jack. 20,000-lbs. (9,000 kg) weld cells are available. The push-out test system can test to failure or in a non-destructive mode. Quality assurance doesn’t take up much space — The test stand has a small footprint, only 8”x18”x27” (WxDxH) and weighs approximately 150 lbs. The stand and hand-operated jack are painted to resist corrosion.

SEKI FEEDERS
SEKI Feeders
SEKI Air Rod Feeder
The SEKI Feeder family provides a variety of solutions for feeding nuts and studs for projection welding applications. The SEKI Air Rod Feeder places nuts on the lower location pin, the Feedermate places nuts onto an upper magnetic pin, and the Bolt Feeder aligns and sets studs. The common component between the three systems is SEKI’s Selector Unit (right), which uses strong magnets and a fine-tol-erance selector gate — without constant vibration — to send aligned nuts and bolts to the feed head. The high-capacity hopper, able to hold 6,000 M6 square nuts is easy to access and requires no “tuning” after the selector gate is set. The selector unit, driven by a gear-drive motor, has a compact foot-print of 10” x 19” x 42” (W x D x H).Technical documentation for the SEKI is available in English, Spanish and German.
Air Rod Feeder Specifications
Power Supply 110/220 V – 50/60 Hz
Air Pressure 4–5 bar
Control Mitsubishi, OMRON, Allen-Bradley
Nut Sizes M5–M14
Supply Tube Length 2.5–12 m
The SEKI Air Rod Feeder uses patented Jet Pin technology, not electromagnetism, to carry the nut to the pin. The result is a secure fastener, whether the stroke length is 150 or 400 mm, regardless of the timing. The Air Rod Feeder places — doesn’t throw — the nut onto the pin, from horizontal to nearly vertical angles. The Air Rod Feeder is available in 200-, 300- and 400-mm stroke lengths, with longer strokes possible in custom units. The Air Rod Feeder is compatible with the Nut Verification System G-Series, a second layer of protection against upside-down, missing and out-of-specification nuts.

WELDERS
The ProLine family of welders are designed for maximum flexibility to match the needs of most resistance welding applications.
The ProLine Size 1 Welder (pictured right) is a classic body style with mounting space on either side of the welder for controls, feeders and other accessories. Size 1 welders are available with up to a 150 KVA transformer, in AC and MFDC configurations. All Standard Series welders feature dual platen/horn mounts. The Size 1 is also available in a Dual-Head Configuation sharing a weld control and trans-former for multi-stage operations while using minimal floor space. The Size 2 Welder is for resistance welding appli-cations that demand more. The standard Size 2 features a 6.25-inch bore cylinder and a larger frame, capable of housing up to 300 KVA transformers, plus a throat depth up to 36 inches.
Engineers designed the ProLine Adaptive Series (pictured left) welder with two goals in mind: Create a versatile, precision machine with a small footprint to maximize efficiency. The result was the perfect modular pedestal welder, with fast and easy reconfiguration, within a compact unit that uses less than half the floor space of competitive flexible welders. The Adaptive Series may be used with a dedicated pedestal or as a Bench-Top unit. The Adaptive Series can even be Reversed, with the cylinder head approaching the workpiece
from below to decrease cycle time in automated projection welding applications.
