• Game of thrones is set in the medieval times in a world of fantasy and magic, the show contains war , dragons, witches, politics as a wide universe of characters plot to take the throne for the kingdom. The show has ran for 5 years now bringing a season out a year with ten episodes a season.

Themes of the genre

• The series presents huge amounts of gore and blood in the convention of medieval drama having realistic gore and brutal realism.

• The elements of secrets, conspiracy and politics is gritty to the points of political drama.

• However has untypical langue in the genre from its fantasy elements, characters will swear and use graphic words to describe feelings.

Target audience

• The target audience of this series is the readers of the book, the book of game of thrones had a massive following and would be keen to watch the series adaption.

• Another audience would be fans of lord of the rings with the fantasy elements and both being great books then adapted to films/series
