What to Bring to Camp: 1. Appropriate clothing (see Dress Code) for 6

days of camp. Some “grubby” clothes and ten-nis shoes for outdoor recreation. Some throw away clothes for Mass Mess. Note: Laundry facilities are available on campus. $1 Wash/$.75 wash.

2. Bible (with Old & New Testaments), notepad, and pen. We encourage students and adults to bring a translation that will help them under-stand and apply the Bible to their lives. Please encourage students not to bring family Bibles or other sentimental Bibles.

3. Pillow and bed linens (twin bed) or sleeping bag. Sunscreen and mosquito repellant.

4. A camera or video camera to take pictures of your group.

5. Spending money for vending machines. The student center has a “grill/mini-store”. There will be CDs, Hoodie’s and T-shirts available for $15 and up. Be advised that too much money may cause theft problems.

6. Spend time in prayer before coming to camp. Bring an open heart, a desire to seek after God, and a passion to worship God in spirit and in truth.

7. Toiletries such as soap, shampoo, a toothbrush, toothpaste, deodorant, comb, dirty clothes bag, etc. Towels and wash cloths are also needed. Flip flops and Tennis Shoes.

8. A friend/relative. This is a great opportunity for you to invite a someone you know to come with you to camp. Be sure to get them in touch with your student minister now so they can meet deposit deadlines and participate in any fundraisers required for Camp.

Some Things You Don’t Need: 1. Alcohol, tobacco, and illegal drugs. Appropriate ac-

tion will be taken if these are found in anyone’s pos-session.

2. Fireworks, lighters, stink bombs, water balloons, wa-ter guns, or any kind of weapon.

3. Roller blades or skateboards.

4. Walkie-Talkies are used by our camp staff for com-munication. Please leave yours at home.

5. IPODS, Cell phones, DS, Laptops, PC, Radios or any portable Media Devices. Our goal is to help each camper hear God speak, free of the distractions of home. Some students may bring cell phones at the request of parents. Please make sure these are not a distraction during camp.

6. Bad attitudes or anything else that may get you in trouble.

7. Cross Camp & Hendrix Campus rules/policies are ex-pected to be followed by all Cross Camp attendees including students and leaders at all times.

Dress Code Campers are expected to reflect a Christian example by their dress. Counselors, parents, and church leaders are responsible for the clothing/appearance of the students and adults attending camp. The manner of dress should be set and clearly communicated prior to leaving home. Modest shorts are appropriate attire for all Cross Camp activities, including worship. A guide for shorts is the finger-tip rule—if fingertips are touching skin, shorts are too short. Tank top type shirts for guys and girls, cheer-leader shorts, bare midriffs, immodest clothing, and clothing with inappropriate messages are not acceptable at any time. Shirt straps should be about two inches wide. Pajamas and/or pajama pants are not allowed out-side of the dorm rooms/halls. A shirt is to be worn at all times by guys unless they are IN the swimming pool. Ad-ditionally, only modest, one-piece swim suits are allowed in the pool. The camp director has the final say in all matters regarding dress code. If we make a mis-take in this area, we want it to be toward modesty.
