Notes: The audience is an adult e-learning class of students interested in learning more about WebEx and what is has to offer. The visual features of this page is the picture that gets the attention of the audience. There is a link to a tutorial on WebEx that is very informative and helpful in understanding what WebEx is all about. The idea behind this slide is to get the audience excited about WebEx, engaged in the class, and a desire to try WebEx.

WebEx is a web conferencing program that enables the instructor to work with a group of students that are anywhere in the world and at anytime for FREE!! WebEx has the ability to share desktops through a web browser. WebEx also has phone and video conferencing capabilities so that everyone can see the same thing at the same time.

WebEx would be a great tool for an instructor to really explain a concept to a group of students with the use of slides, spreadsheets, word documents, and anything else that would help the students to understand the concepts at hand.

Text/Audio Narration: Hello and welcome to this exciting class on WebEx. Today we are going to explore WebEx. What is WebEx? How is WebEx used? Who can use WebEx? How does WebEx impact the classroom? The original WebEx was founded in 1996, although there have been many changes to it since that time. Through the use of WebEx, students and instructors from all across the world are able to share ideas and knowledge in a whole new way. I am excited to share the advantages of WebEx with you all today. As you look at this slide, you will see the key concepts that are being introduced. Reading these key concepts and thinking about how they will apply to your classroom will prepare you for the lesson.

Advantages to using WebEx:•Team collaboration taken to a new height due to the group really being able to ‘collaborate’ while talking and seeing each other. •It is the next best thing to being in the same room.•Book a session ahead of time and invite others to be in the session.

Notes: This lesson is for an adult e-learner who is interested in learning more about WebEx and its advantages in the e-learning classroom. In this worked example, students will demonstrate their understanding of how to sign up for a WebEx account online.

How to Sign Up for a WebEx Account:1.Go to: signup.webex.com2.Enter your first and last name, email, company, and country. Select Continue.3.Create a password that you will remember and agree to terms of use. Select Sign up.4.Check for a WebEx email at the email address that you entered to receive your WebEx invitation. 5.Open email and select Activate Account.6.Enter the password that you created.7.Account is created. Select Done.8.You are ready to enter into the exciting and interactive world of WebEx.

Text/Audio Narration: What are the first steps in utilizing WebEx? The first thing that needs to be done to utilize all the benefits of WebEx is to create an account. This account will be used to talk to and share ideas with the other students in class as well as converse with the instructor. Let’s get started!

Notes: This lesson is for the adult e-learner that has already signed up for a WebEx account. The student will then log into his account and learn to set up a meeting in WebEx for other classmates or instructor (s) to join. This is a worked example of how set up a meeting in WebEx.

How to set up a WebEx meeting:1.Log into your WebEx account.2.On Navigation bar, expand Set Up.3.Select Meeting Manager.4.Set up page appears. select Set Up.5.If security box appears, select Yes.6.Set up then continues. A progress message box appears noting the progress of the set up.7.Once the Set Up Complete page is up, select OK.8.You are now able to start, schedule, or join a meeting. Congratulations!
