St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Council 11382 volume 23 issue 3 September 2018 page 1 I continue to be amazed by the outstanding eorts and fraternity in our council. Thanks to the eorts of so many council and Ladies’ Auxiliary members, we had another very successful year at the Festival of the Little Hills. This was a monumental eort requiring many hands. Whether you set up, tore down, cooked food, served food, sold sponsorships, created checklists or even shed a little blood, you were instrumental to our success. Thank you! I was especially thrilled to see a few new and returning Knights help out. Fantastic! I hope that you found it to be fun and fulfilling, and I hope to see more of you. September and October are two of our busiest months. Almost every week, you will find an activity where you and your family can participate. This includes providing help to young mothers, Special Olympics, and parishioners in need. It also involves fun activities like a picnic and bowling and helping at our parish celebration. I encourage you to visit our website (kofc11382.org) to view our schedule and sign up. With all that is going on, I still want to highlight a few special activities: We are hosting our council family picnic on Sunday, September 30 th at Wapelhorst Park from 2:00 5:00 with dinner served at 4:00. The council is providing the meat. We ask that all families bring a side dish or dessert. This is a fun time for all and is a great way for us to enjoy our fraternity. I hope you can all come. The Ladies are having their first meeting of the fraternal year on Tuesday, September 11 th at 7:00 PM in the cafeteria. To celebrate, they are hosting a Baby Shower to benefit Birthright. All ladies are invited to bring a new baby gift, wrapped or unwrapped. A few items suggested by the Director of Birthright include: bottles, crib sheets, hooded bath towels, 0-3 month sleepers, 3-6 month sleepers (girl, boy or neutral), and breastfeeding items such as storage bags, pads, and lanolin cream. We are looking to start a service program to oer homebound parishioners a ride to and from Sunday mass. George Nagel will coordinate and is now collecting names of Knights that are willing to provide this important service to our parishioners. Please pray on this new program and volunteer if you can. I am convinced that our council is a shining light in our parish. Your actions are a vibrant example of all that we hold dear in our church. You make me proud to be a Knight.
