O Come, O God, within our hearts
Second Sunday of Advent December 8, 2019 OF ADVENT
“Touching Lives one at a time”
PREPARE FOR THE CHRISTMAS SEASON BY CELEBRATING THE SACRAMENT OF RECONCILIATION DURING ADVENT! Advent is a time of preparation. Advent moves us to
look forward with renewed hope to the second coming of Christ, when God’s plan of salvation will be brought to
fulfillment. This reconciliation service is meant to make us ready in mind and heart for the coming of Christ,
which we are soon to celebrate during the Christmas Season.
Come home to God, feel his warm embrace and his gentle forgiveness. Let everyone feel sought after, loved and forgiven by God.
Advent Reconciliation Service
Monday, December 16th, 7pm
THE LONG-AWAITED ONE As the Sundays of Advent unfold the scriptures shift focus from the final coming of the Lord to his historical birth. Today’s scriptures blend the two. Isaiah’s disillusionment with the kings of his own day led him to envision an ideal king who would rule with divine approval and be led by divine wisdom. For centuries the Jewish people anticipated the arrival of that Messiah, who would usher in a blessed age when the whole world would finally dwell in justice and peace. After centuries of such growing expectation, the preaching of John the Baptist about the imminent arrival of the Messiah could not help but provoke intense interest. The Baptist’s message about preparation for “the one who is coming” (Matthew 3:11) makes clear that Jesus is, in fact, the long-awaited one who is ushering in the new age foretold by Isaiah and all the prophets.
Special Collection this Saturday and Sunday, December 7th and 8th, at all the Masses to help
with funds for Retired Religious.
The income available to support elder religious is decreasing. There are far fewer younger
members available to support the retirement and eldercare of senior members.
Contribute to this important fund. Please be as generous as you can.
The children of St. Angela’s Preschool are having their annual Christmas Performance and photos with Santa. Their will be baked goods for sale as well as children’s
ornaments. All children and families are welcome!

Are you looking for a way to serve others?
Eucharistic Ministers to the Homebound is a wonderful way to bring the love of Jesus to those who are in the hospital, nursing home or who are homebound.
There is a group of people that serve as Eucharistic Ministers for CHOMP and Westland House. This Group is looking
for more Eucharistic Ministers.
If you are interested in becoming a part of this group, please contact Betsy,
Christmas & Year End Giving At this time of year, why not consider a gift to your parish? The good news is you still have time to make a charitable gift that will lower your taxable income preserving more cash for you and your family. Here are three charitable giving strategies worth considering that can provide you with additional tax savings and cash flow: CASH GIFT - Make a gift of any amount and receive an income tax deduction this year.
APPRECIATED ASSET GIFT - Avoid capital gains tax on the sale of your assets by giving your stock or real estate to charity. Save on taxes with a charitable deduction. CHARITABLE LIFE INCOME PLAN - Make a gift and receive income for life! Avoid capital gains tax by giving an appreciated asset and receive a charitable tax deduction.
Please keep in prayer
