❏ Course registration is handled by the FMA Study Away office. Students may not register or change classes themselves.

❏ All requests should be sent via e-mail to the Study Away office and should include your name, TUid#, and course section.

❏ You must be registered for at least 2 classes in addition to your internship.

❏ The last day to add/drop is Monday January 30th.

Your apartments will be ready for you on Sunday, January 14th at 3:00pm and not before.

4.Health (precautions)

Get Informed

❏ Do you know your health insurance company?

❏ Contact them prior to departure to know your out-of-state coverage

❏ Consult with your parents if you are under their plan

❏ Have a plan for emergency care that is not

covered by insurance.

5.Transportation

LA IS A DRIVING CITY

❏ LA is a large, sprawling city with heavy traffic, long commute times, and multiple freeways.

❏ That said, the LA Away Program strongly recommends that students have access to a car in LA.

❏ Carefully consider your options in relation to your internship choice, your daily commute, your budget, and your experience with driving.

❏ Please note!

❏ About 95% of students use a car

❏ LA is not the place to learn to drive.

❏ LA doesn’t have an extensive public trans. system.

❏ Some students are beginning to use Uber.
