Welcome to the wide world of Skirt! In 2003, I was on a training run in Lyons, Colorado, and happened to catch a glimpse of my reflection in a storefront window. In those days, I was wearing men’s xs

fitness clothing. My immediate thought that day was, “I am not inspired! I look like a boy. Why can’t I look and feel like a woman, even when I’m pushing myself to the limits?” It was an epiphany that led to the creation of the first ever running skirt – which also took me to victory in 2004’s Ironman Wisconsin – and launched a trend that changed the way women view their fitness apparel.
