    SUMMARY

    BSiGroupSingaporePteLtd(BSi)hasconductedthethirdAnnual Surveillance Assessment (ASA3) of Sime DarbyPlantationSdnBhdManagementUnitSOU26operationscomprisingaMill,four(4)oilpalmEstates,Smallholders,Smallgrowers, support services and infrastructure. BSiconcludes that SOU26 operations have maintainedcompliancewith the requirementsofRSPOPrinciples&Criteria:2007andMYNIIndicatorsandGuidance2010.

    TheASA3ofSOU26wascarriedoutbetween27and29June 2011. BSi recommends the continuation of theapproval of SOU26 as a producer of RSPO CertifiedSustainablePalmOil.

    1.0 SCOPEOFSURVEILLANCEASSESSMENT

    1.1 IdentityofCertificationUnit

    The CertificationUnit is the SimeDarby Plantation SdnBhd Management Unit SOU26 that consists of theSandakanBayPalmOilMillandfourEstates.TheSOU26MillandEstatesarelocatedinDaerahSuanlambaDistrictofSandakan,Sabah,EastMalaysia(Figures1and2).TheMillandEstatesare situated immediately southeastofSandakan Bay. The Global Positioning System (GPS)locationoftheMillisshowninTable1.

    1.2 ProductionVolume

    Theproduction tonnages forCPOandPK for theperiodof the Certificate (01/10/2010 30/09/2011) andprojectedforthenexttwelvemonthsarelistedinTable2. The CPO production for the 2010/11 period issignificantly less than for the Estimate at InitialCertificationandthe2009/10year.SOU26explainedthiswasduetodecliningFFBYieldsandtheunseasonalveryhigh rainfall during the current year, which is almostdoublethelongtermaverage.Thiscauseddisruptionofharvesting,cropevacuationandotherfieldpracticesandisreflectedinlowerFFBtonnagesreportedinTable3.
