Sculpture II

• Focus is on learning a variety of techniques and mediums. Students will develop a working vocabulary and skill set to create structurally sound and aesthetically pleasing pieces.

• Projects progress incrementally on previous skills. Themes change per/project allowing for exploration of creative processes.

Sculpture III and IV

• Focus is mastering a variety of techniques and mediums. Students will develop a working vocabulary and skill set to push the boundaries of structurally sound and aesthetically pleasing ceramic pieces.

• Advanced students will develop a portfolio of work with this years work being a concentration. (Having a unified theme)

• Portfolio’s will be turned in a the end of the year ready for college/ summer program review and scholarship applications.

Kamryn had a passion for animals. She was a

vegetarian and her father was a Politian. Her

family was well educated and Kamryn the

seriousness of animal cruelty.

This piece was about animal circus abuse.

She collaged dollar bills on the surface to

showcase the million dollar travesty.

The next year she choose to continue to

research and she created her concentration

topic.

First Semester : Sculpture in Paper and Clay

Second Semester : Sculpture in Wire, plaster, mosaic, wood and mixed media.

Expect that you will work both in class and outside of class

• Due Date given at the start of each assignment.

• Behind on a Project-

• Sign up to finish during Advisory – 9 spots ONLY.

• Afterschool M-TH 2:40-3:40 (except on NAHS meeting dates. These dates are posted)

• Take it home over the weekend. (This option is only available if you were absent during the week. )

• If you do not bring the project back on time, it gets damaged or lost you will be given a failing grade.

Contests

• You are encouraged to participate in Art Competitions through out the year. They are optional but many offer cash prizes, UIL Letter Jacket opportunity, and scholarships.

• I will make you aware of Dates and guidelines.
