MOTHER’S DAY ROSES
Mother’s Day on Sunday, May 13th is a celebration for all mothers. Roses will be available Saturday May 12th after the evening Masses and after the Mother’s Day morning Masses on May 13th. Your donation will go to support Obria (Birth Choice Health Clinics) which are licensed community care clinics offering medical consultations, ultrasounds, pregnancy tests , and STD testing. They are also available to help women with whatever else is needed during this time of their lives. Your donation will provide significant financial support for all of the Obria Health Clinics in our community. Consider roses for your wife, your mom, or your grandma!

TREASURES FROM OUR TRADITION
In Ireland and the United Kingdom, Mother’s Day is over. “Mothering Sunday” was on the Fourth Sunday of Lent. Long ago, people were freed from work to travel on this day to the parish where they were baptized, their “Mother Church.” Often, people were reunited with their mothers on this day. Employers would release their workers and servants for this visit. The American celebration, while based on this custom, really has to do with an anti-war movement of mothers in Civil War times. They crusaded for better sanitary conditions for their sons. When President Wilson instituted the first Mother’s Day in 1912, it was a day to fly the flag in honor of mothers whose children had died in battle. Knowing the tradition is a good balance to our celebration today. We can enfold in prayer the mothers who have suffered the loss of their children in war.

Collection on May 19th
and 20th
This collection is for the purpose of assisting parishes in the Diocese of Orange that exhibit ongoing needs that can not be paid for by their ordinary income and has urgent needs (such as repairs and maintenance).
All money donated to this collection is put into a restricted fund that will be administered by a group consisting of laity and clergy of the diocese. Parishes with needs as stated above will apply for grants from this fund to be used for their specific needs. Most recently the committee has focused the grants to safety issues including emergency electrical and plumbing repairs.
By participating in the Parishes in Collaboration Collection, all people of the Diocese of Orange are helping one another support the works of our parishes that struggle financially. Please be as generous as your circumstance allow and thank you for your ongoing generosity.

“Yo estoy con vosotros todos los días, hasta el fin del mundo”
MENSAJE DE LA SEMANA:
Estamos llegando a la cumbre de la Pascua; se suceden los días, domingos y fiestas. Hoy, con la ASCENSIÓN del SEÑOR JESÚS, estamos tocando el techo: es el momento cumbre de la vida de Jesús. Él es el que murió; es el que resucitó; es el que sube junto al Padre y… así inicia la NUEVA ETAPA: es la MISIÓN porque “en su nombre se predicará la conversión y el perdón de los pecados a todos los pueblos”. Esta fiesta de la Ascensión, pues, es la culminación de la obra de Jesús. Pero con ella se inicia el RELEVO: han vivido con Él; han experimentado el gozo del mensaje, de su Buena Noticia; ahora son enviados y enviadas a EVANGELIZAR al mundo: la experiencia de salvación que ellos y ellas han vivido, es necesario comunicársela a los demás: “seréis mis testigos hasta los confines del mundo”. Para esta misión, necesitan la fuerza del ESPÍRITU. De ahí que para completar el ciclo pascual, el próximo día, celebraremos la fiesta del ESPÍRITU de Jesús; esto es, PENTECOSTÉS. Es, pues, la de hoy una fiesta profunda: Jesús es definitivamente Señor; nosotros y nosotras somos sus ENVIADOS y ENVIADAS y TESTIGOS: es la fiesta del RELEVO.

El dia de las Madres, domingo 13 de mayo, es una celebración para todas las mamás. Habrá rosas en venta el sábado 12 de mayo después de las Misas vespertinas y después de las Misas matutinas del día de la madres el 13 de mayo. Su donación apoyara a Obria (Clinicas de Salud Elección de Nacimiento) que son clínicas de cuidado comunitario con licencia que ofrecen consultas médicas, ultrasonidos, pruebas de
embarazo y pruebas de ETS. También están disponibles para ayudar a las mujeres con cualquier otra cosa que se necesite durante este tiempo de sus vidas. Su donación proporcionará un apoyo financiero significativo para todas las clínicas de salud de Obria en nuestra comunidad.

PARROQUIAS EN COLABORACIÓN
La próxima semana, mayo 19 y 20, tendremos una segunda colecta. Esta colecta es con el propósito de ayudar a las parroquias de la DIÓCESIS DE ORANGE que muestran necesidades continuas que no pueden ser pagadas por sus ingresos ordinarios. Las parroquias solicitaran becas de este fondo que se utilizarán para sus necesidades específicas.

Cursillo es un "curso corto" sobre cómo vivir la fe Católica, comenzando con una experiencia transformadora que profundiza nuestra relación con Cristo. Cursillo comienza el Jueves por la noche y termina el Domingo por la noche. Los temas incluyen charlas sobre el ideal Cristiano, la fe Católica y el acercamiento Cristiano al mundo.
