Flowers in a Vase Craftivity Instructions
Materials: Each child will get ...
1. One 2-part vase, copied onto cardstock (page 5)2. Two flowers per stem, copied onto cardstock (pages 5-6. Glue one flower on either side of the stem to maximize sturdiness and to hide stems.)3. Stems: Use pipe cleaners, card stock, or folded construction paper.4. Coupons (p. 7)5. Vase pages: Choose which messages work for your students (p. 8-20).
Children can choose how many flowers they want to make and how many coupons theywant to use. They may want to glue additional coupons onto the vase pages.
1. Hand out vases, flowers, and coupons. Instruct children to color or paint the pieces. They should glue the coupons onto the flower centers. Glue two flowers together, with the stem in the middle.
2. Cut a slit into the top of the front vase. Place flowers inside the slit.
3. Fold the vase together. Glue the pieces together with flowers inside. Carefully glue the edges only so that moms can take flowers out when using coupons. (Alternatively, moms canplace a star on used coupons and keep them in the vase.)
4. Choose which writing pages work for yourclass. I‛ve included a blank option along withpages that say “mom,” “mommy,” “grandma,”and “mum” to meet a variety of needs.
5. Once children have written about theirmoms or grandmas, staple the pages behind the cover.
