An Epistle from Paul:

It Pays to Advertise! – Read over the following poem and let me use it to illustrate yet another significant Biblical principle:

The Salmon lays ten thousand eggs,The homely hen lays one.

The Salmon never cackles,To tell you what she’s done.And so we scorn the Salmon,

While the humble hen we prize,Which only goes to prove,

It pays to advertise.

Make no mistake, the Bible is clear that we should be quick to hear and slow to speak (James 1:19) – in other words, we should weigh our words carefully before we speak them…

But there is an area in each of our lives where we need to “let our lights shine.” As Servants of the Most High God, we will be called upon to testify on His behalf. To do so we must learn to speak up for Righteousness sake! It was our Lord who said in Matthew 10:32-33 says, “Everyone therefore who shall confess Me before men, I will also confess him before My Father Who is in heaven. But whoever shall deny Me before men, I will also deny him before My father who is in heaven.”

With the wisdom and power of God’s Spirit in our lives, may we learn the eternal value and need to confess our faith whenever and wherever we are given the opportunity. Look for these opportunities and use them to our Lord’s honor and glory. Why? It pays to advertise – that’s why!

The Lonnie Gamble Family!This is Pearlie Smith’s brother for whom we have been praying. He passed away recently. We want to reassure Pearly that we lift Lonnie’s family up in our prayers and that we want to do

everything we can to encourage and reassure the whole Gamble family that God remains on His throne and His promises are just as sure today as they were when He first gave them to each of us… Lonnie was a young man with a family. We lift his family up in prayer as they make big adjustments without his physical presence anymore… Our hearts go out to this family especially at this time!!
