This could be the beginning of a joke or, in the worst case, a war declaration...Well, thank God, it is neither. It is a beginning of a magi-cal musical journey of three friends who first met in Norway and then in Bosnia and Herce-govina in order to fulfill a dream. A dream of music. International and multicultural music, music across borders that respects humanity, culture and religion. Music that comes from one person’s heart and goes right to the heart of another. This is the story of the musical group Rubinstein Klezmer Project.

almir mesKovicAlmir Meskovic is a young Bosnian “Rising Star” accordionist, who just graduated with much acclaim from the Sarajevo Music Academy. He has already been invited to give solo and chamber music perfor-mances in his native country Bosnia and Hercegovi-na, as well as in Germany and Scandinavia. Meskovic is especially known for his interpretive style and im-provisations on Bosnian folk music.

The musicians of the Rubinstein Klezmer Pro-ject, want to share their passion for music with people of many different origins and cultures all over the world. Their style crosses borders with classical, East European Yidishe klezmer, Sephardyc Jewish music and the broad specter of Balkan music. They set no limits, just follow the tradition of the “Klezmorim”, musicians who went from village to village, from Shtetl to Shtetl, to share joy and sorrow through their music. Welcome to their magical Journey...
