Colours used create a mystifying effect. Above the characters is a man isolated in snow which successfully establishes the location of the movie

The credits emerge from ink, which creates a graphic effect.

The font is bold, and attracts the audiences attention. The grey evokes strong emotion

The background is grey, which is rather simple. However, the graphic effects used later on foreshadows future events such as violence and death.

The title ‘Insomnia’ fades out and a picture of a weave basket is present.

Gradually blood appears on the basket which shows danger, violence and aggression.

The colours used are extremely affective as the red against the white represents corruption. The colour of the blood captures the audiences attention.

Eventually the blood fades within the basket, and the title appears once again.

Many fade in/out effects are used in the opening credits. The background of the weave basket fads and the title of the film is now shown in black and white.

Blood again appears on the basket, we assumed that this may foreshadow future events. Such as, death, brutality and murder

The camera then zooms into the basket. The threads are lingering in blood, which may suggest brutality again.

The most effective shot, is the blood seeping into a white material, assuming it is a bandage foregrounds accidents, murder and crime.

The colours used are extremely graphic and bold, creating a horrific outcome for the audience. instantly the audience are aware of the genre of the film by the opening credits.
