Amazon Chime provides an endpoint that allows inbound connections from supported third-party SIP andH.323 video systems. Currently, Amazon Chime doesn’t support dialing out to a SIP or H.323 device.

Native User Experience for All ParticipantsAll Amazon Chime video participants receive the appropriate native User Experience when there's a mixof direct and third-party participants.

Each video tile, up to a max of 16, includes video input with user/room name. Attendees can mute andunmute themselves by entering *7 on the dial-pad.

Scheduling ConferencesUsers schedule Amazon Chime meetings using their Outlook or Google Calendar. The joining instructionfor VTC system gets included in the Calendar invitation and event when the organizer chooses theProvide in-room video system instructions option when scheduling the meeting. Joining ConferencesAttendees may join Amazon Chime meetings by dialing-in, connecting using a supported SIP/H.323 endpoint or an Amazon Chime client following the meeting instructions provided in the invitation. Polycom and Amazon Web Services also offer an integration with Alexa for Business. With Amazon Alexaon Polycom Trio Systems, users can access all Alexa for Business skills to start and end meetings, bookrooms, and build private skills for their own meeting environments. To integrate Polycom RealPresence Group Series with Amazon Chime, configure your RealPresenceGroup Series system settings.

RealPresence Group Series SettingsConfigure the following RealPresence Group Series system settings so your endpoint works with AmazonChime:

Set the Date and TimeConfigure the system’s date and time settings so that meetings through Amazon Chime display on thecalendar properly.Procedure

1. In the system web interface, go to Admin Settings > General Settings > Date and Time >System Time.

2. Configure the following settings:

Date Format Specifies how the date is displayed in the interface.Note: This is a web-only setting.

Time Format Specifies how the time is displayed in the interface.

Setting Description

Auto Adjust for Daylight Saving Time Specifies the daylight saving time setting. When youenable this setting, the system clock automaticallychanges for daylight saving time.

Time Zone Specifies the time difference between GMT (GreenwichMean Time) and your location.

Time Server Specifies whether the connection to a time server isautomatic or manual for system time settings. You canalso select Off to enter the date and time yourself.

Configure SIP SettingsConfigure the SIP settings on your RealPresence Group Series system to connect with Amazon Chime.Procedure

1. In the system web interface, go to Admin Settings > Network > IP Network > SIP.2. Configure the following settings:

a. Select the Enable SIP check box.

b. Set SIP Server Configuration to Specify.

c. Set Transport Protocol to TLS.

d. Set BFCP transport preference to Prefer UDP.

e. Enter the appropriate Sign-in Address and User Name information.

f. Set Registrar Server Type to Unknown.3. Select Save.

Configure Static IP Address (Optional)Polycom recommends that you assign your RealPresence Group Series system a static IP address.Procedure

1. In the system web interface, go to Admin Settings > Network > LAN Properties.2. Select IP Address (IPv4) or IP Address (IPv6), depending on your network deployment.3. Set IP Address to Enter IP Address Manually and enter the information to assign a static IP

address to your system.4. Select Save.

Configure Dialing OptionsConfigure your RealPresence Group Series system with the correct dialing options for meetings throughAmazon Chime.

Dialing preferences help you manage the network bandwidth used for calls on RealPresence GroupSeries systems.Procedure

1. In the system web interface, go to Admin Settings > Network > Dialing Preference > DialingOptions.

2. Configure the following settings:

a. Set Scalable Video Conferencing Preference (H.264) to AVC Only.

b. Select the Enable H.239 check box.

c. Set the Video Dialing Order to your preference (Polycom recommends SIP).

Set Preferred Call SpeedsConfigure your system’s preferred call speeds for Amazon Chime.Procedure

1. In the system web interface, go to Admin Settings > Network > Dialing Preference >Preferred Speeds.

2. Configure the following settings:

a. Set Preferred Speed for Placed Calls to 2048.

b. Set Maximum Speed for Received Calls to 2048.

c. Select Save.

Configure Remote Control SettingsIf you want to use a remote to control your Amazon Chime conferences, configure the remote control touse DTMF tones.Procedure

1. In the system web interface, go to Admin Settings > General Settings > System Settings.2. Configure the following settings:

a. Select the Keypad Audio Confirmation check box.

b. Set Numeric Keypad Function While In a Call to Tones.

Setting up Speed DialUse speed dialing to quickly call an IP address designated as a Favorite.

RealPresence Group Series systems display speed dial contacts on the local interface and on a pairedRealPresence Touch device. Speed dial entries don’t appear when you pair the RealPresence GroupSeries system with a Polycom Touch Control.

Create Favorite Contacts for Joining Any MeetingCreate favorite contacts for joining and starting any Amazon Chime meeting with your room system.Procedure

1. In the system web interface, go to Manage Favorites.2. Select Create New Favorite.3. In the First Name field, enter the name you want for joining any meeting (for example, Join

Chime Meeting ).4. In the IP Address field, enter [email protected]. Select Save.

Create Favorite Contacts for Starting a Specific MeetingCreate a favorite for starting a specific Amazon Chime meeting.Procedure

1. In the system web interface, go to Manage Favorites.2. Select Create New Favorite.3. In the First Name field, enter the name you want for starting a specific meeting (for example,

Start My Amazon Chime Room).4. In the IP Address field, enter a dial string using the following format:-

<meetingID>@meet.chime.in Dial string includes your Amazon Chimepersonal meeting ID.

5. Select Save.

Create Speed Dial EntriesAfter you create the favorite contacts for Amazon Chime, you can add those to your system’s Speed Dialtab.Procedure

1. In the system web interface, go to Admin Settings > General Settings > Home ScreenSettings > Speed Dial.

2. Select the Enable Speed Dial check box.3. Select Choose Favorites.4. Search for the favorite contacts you created for Amazon Chime and select Add for each one.

The speed dial entries for Amazon Chime meetings display in the system’s Speed Dial tab.

Configure the Calendaring Service for One Touch DialYou can configure the Calendar settings on your system.

If you plan to use Polycom One Touch Dial and G Suite for calendaring, you must configure the ServiceAccount and User Credentials before configuring the calendar. For more information, see:

When using G Suite, you must first Generate the Device Credentials in the Polycom One Touch DialPortal. Once you enable the device and credentials, use the user name and password information on theRealPresence Group Series.

Procedure1. Enter the IP address of the device into a web browser to access the device management

information.2. Go to Admin Settings > Servers > Calendaring Service.3. Enter the following information:

Configuring Polycom Trio SettingsBefore you configure a Polycom Trio endpoint for Amazon Chime, you must determine if you meet therequirements for Polycom Trio interoperability.

Selecting a Polycom Trio Endpoint ConfigurationYou can set up Polycom Trio to work with Amazon Chime using different configuration methods.

Polycom leverages the Polycom Trio system’s hybrid registration capability to extend the open standardsinteroperability of Polycom Trio by making these solutions work with Amazon Chime and Polycom CloudOne Touch Dial Service.

Note: If you plan to use Polycom One Touch Dial and G Suite for calendaring, you must configure theService Account and User Credentials before applying the Polycom Trio configuration. See thefollowing documentation for more information:

When using G Suite, you must first generate the device credentials in the Polycom One Touch Dial Portal.Once you enable the device credentials, you can provide user name and password information on thePolycom Trio system.

Configuration 1: Single Line with Ad Hoc and One Touch Join for MeetingsThis configuration supports ad hoc dialing into Amazon Chime meetings.Procedure

1. Configure the Polycom Trio with the following settings to enable ad hoc dialing.You can customize the values for parameters reg.1.address, and reg.1.displayName.

Configuration 2: Multi-Line OpenSIP That Supports Ad Hoc DialingThis configuration supports ad hoc dialing into Amazon Chime meetings from line 2 (or higher).

To use One Touch Dial to join scheduled meetings in multi-line environments,

see Configuration 2A/2B.

Procedure» Add the following code to the configuration.

Making Test Calls with Polycom RealPresence GroupSeriesAfter completing the provisioning process for Polycom RealPresence Group Series, create and join anAmazon Chime meeting to verify the Polycom RealPresence Group Series configuration.

Start a Meeting Using Speed DialIf your administrator has enabled Speed Dial and added contacts, you can call those contacts from theSpeed Dial screen.

With Speed Dial, you can initiate a call with the meeting ID assigned to the meeting room.Procedure

1. On the Home screen, select Speed Dial.2. Select the speed dial entry configured for starting a meeting.

The speed dial entry dials into the IVR service, which asks for the conference ID.3. Enter the conference ID followed by #.

Join a Scheduled MeetingYou can join a scheduled meeting through Amazon Chime from the RealPresence Group Series systemcalendar when the system lists your endpoint as the meeting location.

Make sure to configure your endpoint calendar service and register it to Polycom One Touch Dial.Procedure

1. Using your calendar service, set up a test meeting with your endpoint as the location.2. From the Home screen, go to the test meeting you created and select Join.

Join an Ad Hoc MeetingYou can join an ad hoc meeting through the Amazon Chime IVR lobby.Procedure

1. On the Polycom Trio system, select the line with the Amazon Chime label.2. Enter the meeting ID followed by #.

Join a Scheduled Meeting from the CalendarYou can use One Touch Dial from the calendar or from meeting details to enter a scheduled meeting.Procedure

» On the Polycom Trio system, do one of the following:▪ Tap Join if a join key is currently active on the Home Screen.▪ Select Calendar and then select a meeting to join.

Sharing Content on Amazon ChimeYou can use several methods to share content on Amazon Chime.

Share content from Polycom Trio on Amazon Chime via one of the following options:▪ Use the Polycom Content App.▪ Connect a USB cable from your system to the Polycom Trio system.▪ Connect an HDMI cable from your system to the RealPresence Group Series system.

TroubleshootingIf you’re having typical conferencing problems such as video, audio, and loading-screen errors withAmazon Chime, you can try the troubleshooting options and solutions provided below to resolve certainissues.

1. When I join an Amazon Chime meeting from the second Polycom Trio, my first Polycom Trio getsdisconnected from the meeting.

Amazon Chime only allows one device with the same name to join a meeting. The reg.2.addressand reg.2.displayName values determine the device name. Each Polycom Trio must have aunique value for reg.2.displayName field. Many customers configure their Polycom Trio device todisplay the conference room name.

2. When I try to join an Amazon Chime meeting, the Polycom Trio device disconnects.

3. Other attendees on my Amazon Chime meeting are reporting that my video quality is not good.
