GENERAL Aberturret House lies close to Crieff, above the Turret Burn and Shaggie Burn and close to the historic Glenturret Distillery, in the highly sought after county of Perthshire. For the golfer there are a number of courses close to Aberturret House including the championship course in Crieff itself, Gleneagles Hotel lies approximately 10 miles distant with three championship courses and is to be the venue of the 2014 Ryder Cup with an 18 hole course in Auchterarder. In addition Gleneagles Hotel offers extensive recreational activities, including the country club, restaurants, spa, shooting school and equestrian centre. The surrounding hills and glens offer many interesting walks whilst Drummond Castle Gardens between Crieff and Muthill are open through the spring and summer months.
