    Employees/ Contractors/ Volunteers/ Public

1.1 Minimising contact between people – maintaining social distancing Everyone DO NOT ATTEND PENLEE HOUSE IF DISPLAYING SYMPTOMS OF CORONAVIRUS – follow NHS advice. Anyone on-site displaying symptoms will be refused entry/asked to leave Limit the number of people on site at any time to limit numbers of contacts Staff/volunteers/contractors Each staff member/volunteer to have their own workspace, enabling them to stay 2m apart at all times. Workspaces cleaned down between users (e.g. shop counter/steward’s chairs). Homeworking rather than hot desking – being mindful that increased staff numbers will be required on-site to manage visitor flow. Toilets – staff/volunteers/contractors to have access to one of the toilets (Gents). Single occupancy (lock door behind self). Ensure others are aware when toilet is in use. Cleaning products to be supplied in toilet to wipe down handles etc. after use. Ensure staff distance from other staff/volunteers and public – e.g. plastic screen at shop counter, floor marking around steward’s chair. Other barriers available to staff and volunteers include visors, masks, goggles and gloves. Break room space is very limited. Knock loudly on door to ensure kitchen is empty before entering. Side to side or back to back working with mask, visor, gloves rather than face to face if 2m distance is not possible for brief periods of time Contractors only admitted by prior agreement – following social distancing measures. Records must be kept of all staff, volunteers, contractors on site (as usual). All contractors and volunteers must have a ‘host’ from staff team who gives them information about social distancing and hygiene practices on site, as these may have changed since their last visit. Staff to use virtual meeting software or telephone call rather than in-person meetings where

possible. Work travel, including vehicle sharing and overnight stays, will be permitted only in exceptional circumstances and must follow government advice Adequate stocks of cleaning supplies to be maintained at Penlee House and checked weekly Public Visiting members of the public to be provided with comprehensive pre-visiting advice which will be linked to from front page of website Entry to the building will be closely monitored and visitors may be asked to wait until there is space for a visitor to enter. This applies to anyone entering to use the toilet, the shop or has a pre-booked visit to the Gallery. Social distancing will be encouraged to enable people to queue safely Café visitors to enter via Terrace door (see café risk assessment for further details about café operation) Public should book to attend the Gallery – this means that their details will be retained for 21 days and can be made available to NHS test and trace if requested. Data to be kept in accordance with GDPR regulations. Walk-up visitors will have this data collected and it will be treated in the same way. Use of face coverings is mandatory in all area of the building with the exception of eat-in diners from 8 August. Visitor flow is managed to ensure only 6 people entering for Gallery visit every 5 minutes. There will be no guided tours, Saturday family activities or group visits for the foreseeable future. This is to limit numbers to enable social distancing and in line with government guidance on not raising voices to prevent spread of virus People on-site advised to remain 2 metres apart at all times (exception is household group). Distancing maintained with signage and staff/volunteer advice. Toilets for public will be reduced to ensure social distancing: disabled/gents toilet and ladies toilet (one cubicle available). Signage on door to ensure single occupancy (except carer). Cleaning of contact surfaces will be undertaken twice daily. Limited space outside toilet for waiting means public will be advised to maintain social distancing in this space with floor graphics. Staff to keep an eye on numbers in this area and limit numbers of people entering building if this area full. Children to be supervised by parents/carers to ensure social distancing takes place – advised in pre-arrival information and by staff One way flow through Gallery Advice that lift is only used by members of same household (poster on lift) Minimise label text to avoid visitors bunching in small areas in exhibition space.
