Currently we have two projects in Engineering & Design which are in progress with M/S Saudi

Electricity Company where a total of 20 Engineers are working in both these projects.

The respective engineers in the design team are capable to fulfill the work assigned to them during

various engineering design disciplines and during all stages of design review for various projects.

For Instance an Electrical Engineer of the Engineering and Design Department is capable to review the

following fields:

Design Review (Comparing & Cross Checking with SEC Standards and other International Standards)

and Preparation of Comments on Designer/Manufacturer’s Equipment/Material Proposal, Technical

Submittals, Updating & Reporting Project Design Activities, Monitoring & Control the

Designer/Manufacturer’s Activities, Reviews on MOM.

Day to Day Job Responsibilities of Such Engineers are:

1. Design Review of Equipment / Material Sizing Calculation: - Grounding Grid Design Calculation, Power Cables (110KV & 132KV, XLPE, Single Core, Copper) Sizing, Pad Mounded Station Service Transformers (up to 2MVA) Sizing, 13.8kV Grounding Transformer Sizing, CT (13.8kV through 380kV) and VT (33kV through 380kV) Sizing, 125V DC Battery and Battery Chargers Sizing, 48V DC Communication Battery and Battery Chargers Sizing, AC Circuit Breaker Sizing, Dry Type Transformer Sizing, LV Cable Sizing, Branch Cable Sizing for Indoor and Outdoor Lighting.

2. Review of Equipment / Material Technical Specifications & Technical Data sheets: - SF6 Gas Insulated Switchgears (69kV through 380kV), MV Metal Glad Switchgears, Power Transformers (Rated; 50/6MVA & 500MVA) and Distribution Transformers up to 2MVA, Power Cables (XLPE), Surge Arresters (13.8kV through 380kV) Post Insulators (132kV & 380kV), Ring Main Unit, Metallic Cable Tray Details, LV Power (AC/DC) & Control Cables (600/1000V), Relay and Control Panel, Auxiliary AC / DC Panels, Batteries and Battery Chargers.

3. Detailed Engineering Design Drawings: - Installation Drawing- Layout & Sections: Substation General Layout, Outdoor Sections, Control Building, 132KV GIS Building, 380kV GIS Building, Main One Line Diagram, Relaying & Metering One Line Diagram, Switchgear Drawings, Equipment Installation and Dimensional Drawings, Cable Routing, Control, Protection & Metering Panels Layouts & Front Views, Indoor & Outdoor Lighting and Power Receptacles Layout Drawings.

4. Design Review of AC / DC Power Distribution Systems: - Single Line Diagrams and Control Schematics of AC/DC Main and Sub Distribution Panels, Selection of ACB, MCCB & MCB, Short circuit / Load Flow Analysis.

5. Review of Material Requisition, Manufacturer Prequalification Documents, Technical Bid Evaluation, Manufacturer Compliance Statements, Vendor Recommendation and Vendor Drawing Checking.

6. Coordinate with other Architectural / Engineering disciplines during all stages of design review. Coordinate with Client, Contractor & Sub Contractor for various projects.

Similarly, our Mechanical Design Engineers are working as Design Engineer Consultant for HVAC,

Plumbing and Fire Fighting Systems of Substation Projects. Job responsibilities include review of designs

submitted by Contractors and Subcontractors like ABB, Siemens, Alfanar, Dar etc. Recommend

Alternative schemes of design. Make corrections where necessary to meet company specification and

standards, approve or reject the design.
