With each brilliant flash of light and every resounding boom that follows, a Fourth of July fireworks display outdoes itself. The "ooohs" and "ahhhs" from the gathered crowd that grow in a crescendo of humanity until the finale, are nearly as impressive as the fireworks themselves. This practice of gathering in crowds, watching huge explosions in the sky and then cheering is somehow an intrinsic piece of what it means to be an American. It is one of the fundamental ways we celebrate our freedom and for many is nothing short of a heavenly experience. Today we will transition of the "heaven" of fireworks, America and freedom to discuss the heaven that so many people of faith look forward to and hope is their final destination. We'll be looking primarily at what scripture has to say about heaven, finally focusing in on Jesus' own teaching. Join us today as we discuss, explore and learn more about what God has in store for His children!

Work Camp this week in Mescalero, New Mexico! Please remember to pray for our youth and the adults who are going on the work camp trip this week. There will be planes, rental vehicles and all sorts of things that can be prayed about! Work camps are high-energy environments for serving people and com-munities in need through home repair, while Jesus radically transforms lives. Hundreds of students from youth groups across America come together for six days to repair and transform homes—and to strengthen and transform their own faith. What a great opportunity to show the hands and feet of Jesus!

During some free time one afternoon the Work Camp Crew took a visit to

White Sands National Park! Yes, it looks like snow drifts and has to be plowed

some days! Have fun everyone.
