Fourteen Take 2nd Annual Mexico Tour

More chili upper and another Mexico trip kept the member of Spanish lub busy. The profit from the chili and spaghetti supper went into the trea ury for a cook-out, a Chri tmas party, and a dinner at La Paz re taurant in Indianapolis. Fourteen members, including Mr . Culp, went on a trip to Mexico City, Acapulco and Taxco in June.

FEA Members Gain Classroom Experience

For the first time in two years library a istant formed a library club. The main fund raising project was the four day book fair. There were II tudent as is­tants thi year. Their main task wa to take care of circulation of materials. They were also re pon­sible for bulletin boards and dis­play cards. During National Li­brary Week, April 17-23, each as istant provided a publicity idea.

The Choirs Keep Busy

The choral department's chedule was full this year, not

only with orne of their routine projects, but with orne new and interesting one . The oncert Choir and Glee tub partici­pated in selling popcorn to raise funds; they pre en ted their an­nual hri tmas program; and, they attended the Madi on Count horal e tival at Alex-

andria High chool on Mar. 17. The oncert hoir presented as their" ·pecial number" at the fe -tival "Row, row, row your boat," with special effect ·, and were highly prai ed. To top off the year they presented a very suc­ces ful version of Meredith Wit-on' "Music Man." As the chool

year came to an end, they pre­pared to sing at graduation.

Eagles Tie for 2nd in Track WRC Tourney

The Eagles wrapped up their '77 eason with an excellent 8-3 record. They seemed to b a strong '. econd' as they grabbed second place tini he in both the Pendleton Heights and Hamilton Heights Invitational , as well a coming in econd in 3-way meets with Ham. Hts. and Mad . Grant. They al o tied for econd in the White River Conference meet. In that tourney, Mike Baker and Mick Daw on grabbed fir t for the Eagle in the 100 and 220, and the shot put, re pectively. The two were named All-confer­ence for those performances. An­other outstanding performer for the Eagles wa Marc DeBonis who set a new chool record in the di cus.

Anderson Victory Highlights Spring Season

The '76 summer conference proved to be a disappointing campaign for the FHS ba eball team . The Eagle tried for fourth place with a 6-8 record. Harry Schmink led the FHS hitting at­tack and a! o led the league in run while being named honor­able mention in the WRC, along with teve Fuller. Jerry Emmons wa named All-WR and re­ceived co-MVP honors with Schmink. Mark ox was named captain, while teve Mundell re­ceived the 'Most Improved Player' award.

that won II ballgames and fin-i hed 4th in the WRC. Six enior lettermen will be lo t after thi year, including four-year man Randy Parker and AII-WRC player Jerry Emmon .

The Eagle won their first game, but an early sea on hitting lump cau ed some problem . A

highlight of the ea on was a 6-5 victory over Ander on on the strong pitching of Emmon . Poor weather put the spring season in a balk, but the Eagles looked for­ward to a fine summer program. Freshman Dean Riddle was the first fre hman to make the var ity since Parker did so.
