October 7, 2015 DECA prepares emerging leaders and entrepreneurs in the fields of hospitality, marketing, management and finance in high schools and colleges around the globe. October 6, DECA after school help session December 8, 1 st competition of the year- King of Prussia (230 students) Students complete a 100 question multiple choice test and a role play for their competition. March 1-3 (T-Th), State Competition in Hershey, students who place high enough at district may attend. (approx. 150 students) April (Approximate), ICDC in Nashville, TN (approx. 30 students)- there are also leadership academies to attend. All curriculum taught in classes correlates to DECA tests and role plays. We will practice in class After school extra help is offered. Teachers and older students come to assist new students. We have Competition University A software designed specifically for DECA competition. It has each category and test included. Students can buy their own log on for $10 by this Friday, Oct. 9. Chapter officer, elections held in the fall District 9 Representative, elections held at King of Prussia in December. State Officer, elections held at state competition in Hershey in February. All state officers attend a summer workshop in late June at Penn State University. East DECA has had several state officers over the years. Keystone Federal Credit Union- Keystone FCU has a student run branch in our cafeteria which is staffed by a bank employee and two of our DECA students.
