Will there be new clubs at the 4-6 Campus?

At the end of each

quarter we always have

a jeopardy round in the

cafeteria. This time we

did it a little bit differ-

ent. What we did was

we had 2 classes against

each other and then

each winner would ad-

vance to the next and

final round in the cafe-

teria. The teams against

each other in the class-

room were Mrs. Hard-

esty’s class vs.

Mrs.Kauffeld’s class and

then Ms.Miller’s class vs.

Ms.Fleming’s. The win-

ning teams were

Mrs.Hardesty’s class and

Ms. Miller’s class. So

they went to the cafete-

ria to do final jeopardy.

Easter. I hope you have

been praying to God about

this Lenten season.

Last year, the lunch ladies introduced to us The Baked Potato Bar. It had butter, salt, pepper, bacon bits, ham and cheese. No one could resist from getting it. This year, however, the baked potato bar is harder to find. Here are some peoples’

Care Packages

By: Reese Hayden

Have you ever thought about

how you can change

someone’s life? Recently I

learned you can change

someone’s life by doing very

small things. My mom’s

Arise group at Blessed Moth-

er Church wanted to do

something together for Lent.

Her group decided that we

would get together every Fri-

days with their kids after

school at Blessed Mother to

do a Random Act Of kind-

ness every week. One of the

first weeks in Lent we made

care packages for people

with cancer going through

chemotherapy. We included

blankets, reusable cups, dis-

posable toothbrushes, plastic

forks (because chemo makes

people’s mouth taste like

metal), and notebooks. All

the kids made cards to put in

the bags. After we were done

we took the bags to the

chemotherapy center and

gave them to the nurse. A

couple days later we got a

call from a man named

Stan who had tracked

down the kids who made

the packages because of

their uniforms. After a few

calls he got to my mom.

He wanted to come talk to

us, and tell us how much

the bags meant to him. My

mom told him he could

come and when we would

meet. When that Friday

came we met Stan, He told

us he only had 1 lung and

that he had had a lung sur-

gery. After the surgery he

became unconscious for a

what each food on our plates

meant. We also did the washing

of the feet, and everyone literal-

ly thought we were going to

wash each other’s feet, so no

one wanted to do it. Instead,

the teachers planned to do the

‘washing of the hands,’ which

made everyone so relieved! We

did different activities, including

building a newspaper shelter,

but there was a catch: we could-

n’t talk AT ALL. We watched

the special video again, and by

then it was about 1:00 PM and

time to leave.

Sarah Edge says: “I liked the

Isabela Riedell says: “The whole

Prayer Day

By: Sammie Hines

The 5th grade prayer day was

held in the Parish Hall on April

17, 2014. The 5th grade teachers

had organized it to help us

grow in our faith. Mrs. Fleming

and Mrs. Hardesty started it off

with a couple prayers, and then

we watched a special video that

the teachers had made on Mi-

crosoft Movie Maker. We had a

while. He said when he

was unconscious he saw

him. Stan beliefs this

light was God because

after he saw the light he

woke up and he has

been feeling much bet-

ter. Right before the sur-

gery he had been Bap-

tized so he truly believes

God came to him. Stan

was so thankful he got a

care package he said it

made his day he was so

happy. We can change

the world one good

deed at a time.

Scientific Projects By: Thomas Gonzalez and Michael Shepherd

For the science fair Mrs.

Kauffeld’s class went to look

at the projects on April 1st. I

loved all of them, but I went

and asked what three of my

classmates thought. I asked

Reece P. ,Reese H., and Oliv-

ia T. Two of them thought

that that Brandon Ballard’s

Coke-A-Motor

was the best. And the last

person thought that Leonna’s

“Wake up and smell the roses

project.” was the best. I

thought all of them were

good. They did a really good

job on them. I can’t wait until

next year so I can do mine.

And I know Mrs. Kauffeld

can’t wait to see

what our ideas on a science

fair pro-

ject will

be.
