Welcome to a world of wonders. Here at the NC Zoo kids and adults are star struck at the act of animals at their trip to the zoo. From fish to elephants you can explore the habitats and feedings of animals that are from all around the world. Through the zoo there are benches and fun stops to rest. The length of the zoo is 3 miles. Not up to walking take the tram or bus.

Parking and Paths

The NC Zoo is divided by two sections, North America and Africa. There is parking for both sides. As you walk through Africa there are misters along the way. While walking through Africa each animal has a statue. Half way through the zoo when you reach the middle, you are in Junction Plaza. At Junction Plaza you can enjoy ice cream, eat lunch, watch the 4D movie, or ride the carousel. In North America you can take frequent stops on the benches. Through North America there is a big geyser and a place to watch bees (farther noticed in extra experience).

Extra Experience

While at the zoo you can also play on the playground, play in playzone , watch the geysers, learn about the animals, and watch bees in the bee exhibit. On the right there is a picture of the zoo playground. The playzone consists of different fun activities that includes chalk, pretend vet, splash in a mini river, find your way through a maze, pretend camp, become a chef in the mud kitchen, or climb a huge tree house. While looking at the animals you can learn about their bones, behaviors, and bodies. The geysers shoot up in to the sky and send mist all over you to cool you off. At the bee exhibit you can watch the bees safely through the glass. At the giraffe feeding you can pay a few dollars to feed a giraffe. The time is unlimited when you pay to get in.
