Assalamu’alaikum Wr.WbTo Executive Board of AMSEP AMSA-Indonesia 2015/2016,

My name is Asfarul Anam, but all my friends call me Anam. I am officially twenty

two years old on July 18th 2015. I am the first child of three siblings. I have two

little brothers, and they are Khusnul Fuad and Azam Husnan Aminurokhim. My

parents are Amin Nurokhim and Yuliana Handayani. I am currently studying (7th

semester) Medicine in Trisakti University since 2012. To be a doctor has been

my dream since I was a little boy. I have been a member of AMSA-Usakti since

2014. And joining AMSA has been one of the best time of my medical students

life, thus it has given me many experience that money cannot buy. The people I

met in every AMSA Universities in AMSA Indonesia has given so many positive

impacts to me and the people in my AMSA Univesity. It has really shown the

diversity of Indonesian culture, yet we are one- medical students who gather as

one, to help people in our community and expand knowledge for the better

person and for the better Indonesia. Apart from that, I like to read, sing, swim,

play a drum, take photography, make friends endlessly, and do social acts and

help the people in need around my community- kids, elderly, disabled, and the

poor.

With this letter I would like to express my strong interest for participation at

AMSEP of 2015. Ever since I heard of the possibility of studying abroad, the idea

of doing that hasn’t left my mind. My desire for going to study in a different

country keeps growing. As you can see from my Curriculum Vitae and

Application Form, i have ever contributed in AMSEP Program before. And there’s

nothing i want more than to be trusted and given a chance again to contribute as

one of the luckiest delegate for AMSEP Australia. Before this opportunity opened,

i have asked both of my parents if i were allowed to go, and they supported me

one hundred percent. They told me that this is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity,

and i should go again and gain new experiences and develop as a future medical

student. I was really glad and thankful that they supported me very much to

attend this programme.

I also want to enjoy experiencing new cultures. I am really eager to go and

contribute, and also to expand my knowledge, experience, and relations and

meet medical students in Australia to go with the rest of 5 delegates from AMSA-

Indonesia. I want to know how the Student Exchange Program is done, so that i

can also share to my fellow member of AMSA-Usakti and motivate them to apply

for AMSEP in further time and host AMSEP for the first time ever. AMSA-Usakti

members have a great vision that one day Usakti could be one of the most

prestigious host for AMSEP and be the next host of further AMSEP programme.

Further, I would like to improve my English. Even though I write, speak and

understand English already quite well, it is not fluent yet. Studying in a foreign

country will help me bring my English to a higher level.

My commitments if I were chosen to go for this AMSEP are I would participate

wholeheartedly during the program. I will represent and make every second

counts while I am in Australia and appreciate every academic and non-academic

program made by AMSA-Australia. I will learn everyday and make new friends

with AMSA-Australia so that this great relation between AMSA-Indonesia and

AMSA-Australia could be greater and greater in the future days. I am fully

committed to join this program and I am definitely excited to fulfil this

responsibilities if I were chosen. I will make a report about the AMSEP

programme so that my fellow member of AMSA-Usakti and AMSA-Indonesia

could share the joy and wonderful experiences I will have if I were chosen in

Australia.

Why should I be chosen as one of the delegates for AMSEP Australia? I

acknowledge medicine, global health issues, and diversities in cultures and the

people. I seek for new experiences and this is one of the biggest opportunities

ever in my life to gain more experience, and I am supported one hundred percent

by my parents and consultant to go to this AMSEP program to expand as a

human being and as a future doctor to challenge myself academically and non-

academically by meeting others eager medical students of what they are capable

of and to see and share ambitions to be a great doctor. That’s why I am

determined, motivated, and committed to contribute for AMSEP Australia as one

of the delegates from AMSA-Indonesia. I hope that when I get home I will be able

to share all the information’s given in AMSEP Australia programme by The

University of Melbourne Medical School. I will participate and give my all at the

conference if I were chosen. I love to make friends, I certainly, simply, and truly

love AMSA more than any organization I have ever joined. I always keep my

word and I take my jobs and responsibility seriously. If I were chosen as a

general delegate for AMSEP Australia, I will absolutely do my best to be active,

make the best out of every second I spend my time in AMSEP programme with

delegates from Indonesia and with the host from AMSA-Australia, absorb every

knowledge given on the program, and represent AMSA Indonesia in the best way

possible while I am contributing in the program. I will not let AMSA Indonesia

down. I hope tremendously and will be very much thankful if I get to be one of

the delegates because I am not only having experienced an AMSEP programme

from AMSA but also i am really excited to write my new great experience’s

chapter in Australia and I really want to learn and make a huge network of new

people with the same dream which is the next future doctors. I hope that you can

give me a chance to contribute in this conference. Most importantly, I will not let

AMSA Indonesia down, I will do my best in every step of the way. VIVA AMSA

INDONESIA!

Thank you for your consideration.

Best Regards,

Asfarul Anam
