Lori’s Stories May/June 2009 Asia ‘09 

This summer I have the privilege of 

leading a team of 14 students and 2

other staff to Asia for our summer 

outreach. We will be in Hong Kong,

China & Taiwan for 7 weeks.

I am so excited at the prospect of returning to Asia. Each time I’ve been

it’s been so fruitful & a time of 

immense growth for me as a leader.

This summer we will have unique

opportunities to join friends in helping

to teach in English corners, build

relationships with locals and

encourage & minister in local

churches.

Same as last year we are having somevisa difficulties. It is encouraging to

see where God has taken me from a

year ago w/absolutely NO faith to see

a miracle come to pass then where I

am now with a peace knowing that it

will all work out...because it always

does...God is faithful. Pray for health

for our team as the swine flu is

 bringing up roadblocks for us to travel

& receive the visas we need!!

Thoughts on life... I can’t believe how quickly this year is passing us by. It’s now June

and it feels as though it should still be April. I am currently preparing

to fly home for my sister Rebekah’s graduation from College! I am

so proud of her & am looking forward to some time with the fam.

We are quickly approaching the hurricane season here in FL and the

other day I needed to take a student of mine to Tampa to get a new

passport, on the way we hit this dark & nasty storm cloud. As we

drove through it I heard this noise ~ I looked at the windshield & it

was HAILING...in FLORIDA whoever would have thought??

Ladies day outWe were able to celebrate our friend Angela’s birthday

will quite a few of the girls from our base. It was a

great time of celebrating our friend & being able to

spend time together!!

God SquadWe had the unique opportunity to take three of our 

schools & some base staff down to Miami for 

Memorial Day weekend to serve as the God Squad.

We were serving the community with crowd control

during the busiest weekend in Miami ~ BLACK 

BEACH WEEK~ it was an eye opening & entertaining

I was fortunate to be able to visit Vancouver, BC for theweekend this month to celebrate my sister Rebekah’s

graduation from college with a degree in Business

Administration. It was great to be able to catch

up with my family &

some friends.
