DUATHLON RACE 1 – 16th JULY Well the 2015/2016 season is over so as the months get cooler, and we roll into another season we will kick start 2016/2017 with our Duathlon Series. Registration has opened for Race 1. http://www.active.com/mackay-qld/running/distance-running-races/duathlon-race-1-2016 ** Please note we are looking for a replacement race director for Race 2 which will be held Sunday 14th August. There has been a date change so it doesn’t clash with Yeppoon and Mackay Mountain Marathon and yes it’s on Sunday instead of Saturday. WIN AN EXCLUSIVE ‘TRAIN LIKE A COWBOY’ PACKAGE WITH PLATINUM SPONSORS QLD COUNTRY To enter the draw to win one of 6 packages, simply be approved for a new Queensland Country Home or Personal Loan before July 23! Check out the attachments! PACKAGE INCLUDES: - Flights for you and a friend - Training session with the Cowboys - High Performance Training Team - Accommodation A FRIENDLY REMINDER - TA RULES APPLY AT ALL EVENTS Just a friendly reminder that with all our club events TA rules apply at all times. At the last few events we have noticed some loose helmet straps and some athletes undoing the strap before racking their bike back in transition. Please ensure your helmet straps are tight and that your helmet stays done up until your bike is racked. We also must remind athletes that if we do not have traffic control (which is every event except our majors) then ALL traffic rules apply! If we ask you to stop or obey road rules, then you must. Ignoring the race brief or disobeying road rules on course can result in a DQ. Just remember at the end of the day the rules are there to keep all athletes safe. So some homework for everyone, read the attached revised TA competition rules and help us make every race as safe as it can be. IS THERE A DIFFERENCE IN TECHNIQUE FROM THE POOL TO THE OCEAN? Simple answer - no.
