  • As we launch into 2016 there is a lot of talk about how the property market is going to change

    and how is it going to perform during the course of the next twelve months.

    While many will look at past results as an indication of the future, one of the truest and best

    indicators of how the property market is actually shaping up will be overlooked. That indicator,

    is buyer activity, which is a measure of how many buyers are enquiring on and inspecting

    property; how many buyers are making offers, bidding at auction and very tellingly how many

    buyers are going to contract.

    Right now, activity is stronger than expected and some agents coming back from their holidays

    have been caught off-guard. The fact that inspection numbers, bidder numbers and the number

    of offers being made are up imbues a sense of confidence in the market and in general there is

    a sentiment of optimism. All of which, should this positive outlook remain, suggests that 2016

    could be a big year for our local property market.
