Maintenance and Repairs

Maintenance and repairs can beperformed by any qualified serviceoutlet; however, warranty repairsmust be performed by an authorizeddealer except in a situation wherethe vehicle owner is significantlyinconvenienced and a warrantedpart or a warranty station is notreasonably available to the vehicleowner.

In a situation where the vehicleowner is significantlyinconvenienced, and an authorizeddealer is not reasonably available, repairs may be performed at anyavailable service establishment orby the owner, using anyreplacement part. Cadillac willconsider reimbursement for theexpense incurred, includingdiagnosis, not to exceed themanufacturer's suggested retailprice for all warranted partsreplaced and labor charges basedon Cadillac's recommended timeallowance for the warranty repairand the geographically appropriatelabor rate. A part not being availablewithin 10 days or a repair not being

completed within 30 daysconstitutes a significantinconvenience. Retain receipts andfailed parts in order to receivecompensation for warranty repairsreimbursable due to thesesituations.

If you are in a situation where youare significantly inconvenienced andit is necessary to have repairsperformed by other than a Cadillacdealer and you believe the repairsare covered by emission warranties, take the replaced parts and yourreceipt to a Cadillac dealer forreimbursement consideration. Thisapplies to both the FederalEmission Defect Warranty andFederal Emission PerformanceWarranty.

Receipts and records covering theperformance of regular maintenanceor other repairs (such as thoseoutlined earlier) should be retainedin the event questions ariseconcerning maintenance. Thesereceipts and records should betransferred to each subsequentowner. GM will not deny warrantycoverage solely on the absence of

maintenance records. However, GMmay deny a warranty claim if afailure to perform scheduledmaintenance resulted in the failureof a warranty part.

Claims Procedure

Those repairs qualifying under thewarranty will be performed by anyCadillac dealer at no charge.Repairs which do not qualify will becharged to you. You will be notifiedas to whether or not the repairqualifies under the warranty within areasonable time, not to exceed30 days after receipt of the vehicleby the dealer, or within the timeperiod required by local or state law.
