The minutes of re IQAC meeting held on March 16, 2017 as electonically circulated to the members werc conhnred. . Action plan as decided in the meeting held on March 16, 2017 was discussed point by Point. r Benchmarking against the best B-schools along with gap analysis was presented in detail by Mrs. Sucheta Pawar that was prepared by her and Mrs. Trupti Gupte. The gap analysis covered 5 impofiant areas, i.e. Placements, Industry Intemction, Faculty Developmeot, Research and Entrepreneurial Activities. . Mr. Mohan Tanksale shared the good feedback about our student, Mr. Rishabh Kulkarni who is currently working as a summer intem with BP Wealth and said that the organization will appreciate if we can allow Mr. fushabh to continue his internship for one more month. . He also said that sirty days may be a short pe od for an organization to give any meaningful rvork to the intens and hence, we need to find out if we can extend the period of internship. . Mr. Utpal Samanf replied that if we get such a rcquest by the concemed organization, we take a leoicnt view and allow the studelts to continuc their intemship with a permission from Dr. Purohit and a wdtten assumnce by the concerned studcnts to complete their assignments and other course related work oII tin]e. . Dr. Kavita Laghate explained that the new syllabus of the University of Munbai allows sufficient time to students to undergo internship in MMS Semester IV. . Mrs. Suchota Pawar presented thc proposed FDP on "How to write a rcsearch paper" that would be organized in the month ofAugust 2017 and said that among many other objectives, it wjll facilitate better intemction with faculty membem from other institutes. . Dr. Kavita Laghate suggested that we can thbk of approaching ICSSR, UCC and NSE regarding minor research projects for our Institute . Dr. Snehalata Deshmukh expressed her opinion that we cannot get UGC projects as we still don't have NAAC accreditation. . Dr. Snehalata Deshmukh also suggested that we should start the systen of peer

appraisal.

Da. Snehalata Deshmukh also suggested that we need to have a competent statistician

to handle the huge data that we will be collecting through research activities.The ownership and responsibility of Srmmer Internship Projects was given to Mrs.

Sucheta Pawar as a Faculty In-charge ofSIP.CA Anil Ganu suggested tiat we should focus on soft skill development of our

students and his point was further emphasized by Mr. Mohan Tanksale by saying that

$ e should focus more on Croup Discn'sions.

Dr. Snehalata Deshmulh said that the mentoring by core faculty menbers should be

restafied in the Institute and these mentors should work with extemal mentors that we

have identified at the time of Interview Clinic to enhance the employabilify skills ofour students.

Dr. Kavita Laghate suggested that we can encourage our students to undergo couseslike COIIRSERA to improve dreir employability.

lr{r. Mohan Tanlsale and Dr. Snehalata Deshmukh appreciated the work done by Mrs.

Sucheta Pawar regarding Gap Analysis.

Dr. Snehalata Desbmukh asked Mrs. Srcheta Pawar about the timeline for the

incubation cenhe.

It was decided that Mrs. Sucheta Pawar will share her ideas about incubation centre

within I month from this meeting and let the members knorv how long it may take to

implement the concept. She rvas ofthe opinion that it may take I year.

CA Anil Ganu asked if these are the only best practices for benchmarking- Mrs.

Sucheta Pawar replied that wo had limitations while doing the gap analysis and we

need good netlvorking to find out various other practices that we can adopt.

Mr. Mohan Tanksale suggested that we can organize a collaborative competition to

edlance the networking efforts and requested Mrs. Sucheta Pawar to take the

initiative.Tt was decided that CA Ajit Joshi will be visiting various organizations to discuss the

possibilities of joining hands with them regarding research projects on lariousindustA relevant topics.

Mr. Mohar Tanksale suggested that we should find out the availability of Dr' AjitRanade for the first meeting of Prism Square as his inputs will be quite valuable for

the good quality research work.

Mr. Mohan Tanksale suggested that we should identif the areas we wish to coler inPrism Square which will make contacting industry resources relatively easy for their

conft ibution to our joumal.

The members unanimously agreed that the number of books that we issue to ou.students in the library is satisfactory.

It was decided that subscription of CMIE is an administrative decision and should be

handled at the Institute level.

Dr. Hzlrish Kunar Purohit explained that currently we arc subscribing to Capitaline

which is an industry oriented database and is cost effective in comparison with CMIE.

Mr. Jigar Patcl presented the HR calibration test developed by him and Dr. Tejashrce

Deshmukh.

. Though Mr. Utpal Sanant expressed his view that he does not wish to develop any

filtering mechanism for the students opting for marketing specialization, he was

advised to develop one by Dr. Kavita Laghale to understand where orrr students stand.

. CA Ajit Joshi said that he has identitied following 5 areas for filtering students opting

for Finance specialization:I. StatisticslL CostirgIII. Financial ManagementIV. CoDmercial LawV. English

It was decided that the odentation of parents rcgarding specialization of theh stud€nts

rvill be organized in the third week of November 2017 and following faculty members

will be responsible for their rcspective areas of specialization:. Finance; CA Ajit Joshi. Markefing: Mr. UFal Samant. HR: Dr. Tejashree Deshmukh & Mr. Jigar Patel

Tt rvas decided that the interaction ofour current students with the alumni should be more

of informal nature.

Dr. Snehalata Deshnukh advised Dr. Harish Kumar Purohit not to tnak€ frequent changes

in the placement team.

It was decided that Mr. Jigar Patel will be sonsitizing our students about openilg digital

lockers. However, pushing their marks into the lockers by the Institute is not possible

Dr. Snehalata Dcshmukh requested Dr. Kavita Laghate to find out if Udversity ofMumbai can allow us to push the marks of our students to their respeotive lockers

directly.

When Mr. Utpal Samant app sed the meeting about the placements being low, despite

good companies coming to our campus, it was noticed that onc ofthe issues that we need

to address is the indiscipline ofthe students.

. Dr. Kavita Laghate apprised the nembers about va ous measures taken at JBIMS

regarding students' discipline, especially in the placement area.

. Dr. Snehalata Deshmukh told the meeting that every faculry member must cnsure that the

discipline is being followed by the students and the Dircctor and Dean should support

such measures taken by the ibculty members after a discltssion with the colcerned faculty

member, whenever deemed appropriate and necessary.

. CA Anil Ganu and Mr. Mohan Tanksale suggested that Placement team should do the

backward analysis and orvn the responsibility for the past actions.

It was suggested that Mr. Utpal Samant should neet Dr. Kavita Laghate to understand the

Placement procedures of JBIMS.

Dr. Snehalata Deshmukh urged all faculty members to assist Placement cell.

It was decided that Mr. Utpal Samant will work on the MTHR database provided by Mrs

Trupti Gupte by September 2017.

Mr. Mohan Tantsale spoke to Union Bank of lndia Executive about our Net-banking

litemcy workshop proposal and suggested to Mrs. Sucheta Pawar to rephrase the proposal

sent to Union Bant to make it more specific.

. It was decided that a resource for NeFbanking workshop will be arranged by Mr. Mohan

Tantsale.. lt was decided to request Union Bant oflndia to share the names oftheir female accou[t

holders who do not use net-banking.. Mr. Mohan Tanksale suggested that Mrs. Sucheta Pawar should take the guidance from

Dr. Chann Singh regarding setting up our incrbation cenhe.

. Dr. Snehalata Deshmukh added that Univercity of Mumbai and UGC have their

guidelincs regarding the incubation centre and those should been taken into consideration

while setting such centre at our Institute.

. CA Susbrut Chitale appreciated the presentation givell by Mrs. Sucheta Pawar regarding

Business Plan competition and suggested that we need a stong team to take it forward

r CA Anil canu opined that the proposed business plan compctition should be limitedcurrently only to the present students ofPTVA and should not be thrown open for alumni

at this juncture.. CA Sushrut Cbitlae suggested that we should invite oul current employers as panellists

for business plan competition.. Mr. Jigar Patel presented the work done by Examination team in the last quarter and it

was appreciated by the members.

. Dr. Snehalata Deshmukh directed the NAAC team to report the progress of their work to

her every Saturday.
