this amazing bird came to me shortly after my father passed ,as i have never seen

one in real life till he passed ..since then my contact with this amazing creature is all

to often enlightening and excuse me for sounding cliché but overwhelmingly

spiritually divine ..i have too many to mention personal moments i won’t say they are

strange but i feel lucky to have notice this interesting connection with what i feel is

my spirit animal …ever lasting truth of knowledge i feel that all living things are

connected and we need to incorporate some major aspects nature and life back

into our normal every day crazy that we and the world creates..adapt like that bird

I just had a dream… different colored hummingbirds kept flying, one by one, into the

room where I was at. Getting curious, I finally stepped through the open doorway to

see them and there were 5 hummingbirds sitting on the tree branch within about 2

feet of the doorway. They were all pastel colors… lavender, green, pink, blue and

yellow. Then I woke up. The number 5 has always meant ‘change’ for me. I’ve never

really been drawn to hummingbirds, but they obviously are communicating with me.

Thank you for sharing their symbolic meaning. I keep having a feeling there are

many things about to change in my life – some seem good and some sad – I am

trying to remember to be playful and light… trusting everything is in perfection, even

if I can’t always see it.

Today, I found a hummingbird in my house! It was trying to get out by the window

above the living room. In time I was able to guide it out the front door. It may have

come in through the pet door. It was a good omen for me and message about being

lighter since I have had a lot of recent dark times. I often see them on the patio, in

my garden. A few years ago, an object fell against the taillight of my new car. The

mark appeared to be an etching of a hummingbird. The dealer replaced it under

warranty. Perhaps this is one of my totems.

In 2008 I went outside on the porch and along came a hummingbird. It flew in front

of my face then hoovered at the left of my face for 45 seconds then flew away.

Withing the next few days I got a strong feeling from my brother-in-law who had died

a few months prior. The thought was “go and get white flowers for Vicky”. Vicky was

his grieving wife. I took off of work and went to the florist to pick up some white

flowers. On the tag I wrote something sentimental from Carl to Vicky. She was

deeply touched.

the 1st weekend of Jan. There is a Huming bird that visited me today on Christmas. I

thought how odd for it to be visiting in Winter. It did visit me in October as well. So, I

looked up this meaning and WOW! What an amazing gift from the universe and

GOD as I believe him to be. It suites the situation to a “T” so to say. The Humming

Bird as it states have the following:

Interesting. It makes sense but I never would have guessed that I was a

hummingbird. I am always buzzing from flower to flower, topic to topic. I love travel

and I’m always upbeat now matter what happens to me. When ever I have a major

setback, I just shake it off and cheerfully try again. I always thought I was a Mustang

until I saw the results. Hummingbird fits.

I believe that among other attributes, the hummingbird comes at a time to portend a

warning of difficulties and to encourage you to use your strength and spirit of

lightness and love to get through them. I have seen 2 hummingbirds and 1 crow in










the last few weeks. Two days ago a hummingbird came and fluttered between my

dog and I while were out on walk. My dog has since been in great pain and unable

to stand. I do not know her future yet. I believe the hummingbird was wishing us well

in this circumstance.

this year 2013 as I was visiting her site a hummingbird flew in the mausoleum and

died on its back anybody know the meaning of this my sisters site does have other

A few years ago I was sleeping in my bed an it was about 10:00 and then I heard a

knocking on the window, so I awoke and I noticed a humming bird. After a few

seconds it flew away.when I read that spirit animals can come in phisical form I

Thats so so interesting for last year because of the love i have for

hummingbirds i got my whole bottom of my leg and foot done with a vine of

lilys (yellow) and a hummingbird because of the love i have for them never

When you find a hummingbird down, it’s usually because it couldn’t find or get to a

sugar source and need more sugar!! Just pick it up, get a spoon or little measuring

cup, put water and sugar in it and set their beak in it. Their nostrils are near their

head so they won’t drown. They will start to flick their tongue out and then fly away.

A few years ago a hummingbird was caught behind the blinds in my parents garage

where my daughter and I were living at the time. I slowly lifted the blinds to set it free

and it refused to fly out. I actually had to pick it up in my hands and it just sat there

in my hands looking at me. I took it outside and had to prod it gently to get it to fly

away. At first, I was astonished and thought this had to be a sign of good luck.

However, the next day my life turned into a living nightmare that I still have

repercussions from. I lost my car, all my money, was kicked out of my parents home

and lost custody of my daughter. Since then, I see hummingbirds as a really bad

sign. Any thoughts on this?

maybe it was trying to tell you something bad was commencing. i can relate to

you loosing everything i had a similar experience where i too lost my kids and

family’s trust and it was because of my bad chooises and addiction, but if you

keep up with what you have to do to get your life back in order eventually you

will get to a place where you can reflect and enjoy. Sure things to do and

problems will keep coming up but as long as you keep going things will work

out.

Good and bad seem to come as part of a whole: I have seen

good deeds cause horrible suffering, and have seen bad

experiences ultimately allow people to create their heaven on

earth.

Hummingbirds seem to me to live a balancing act between

survival and destruction (since they are so fragile and can use

up their energy reserves so quickly). So it seems to me they

have a bad side to their symbolism as well. However, that is just

part of the complete picture.

The day that my husband went to an inpatient hospice facility a hummingbird

hovered outside of our living room window for several minutes. He was a beautiful

green color. When he got to his inpatient room at the hospice facility, there was a

green hummingbird plaque outside of his door. When he passed away, my friends

sent the family a quilt having hummingbirds all over it. What a blessing.

My sister passed a couple of Thanksgivings ago. Very suddenly and unexpectedly.I

have never been so sad in my life! One day shortly after, I was going out the back

door when suddenly a blue hummingbird appeared and began sipping from the

unseasonable blue flowers that had strangely popped up on the Rosemary plant on

my back deck. My sister’s favorite color in the world was blue. I had never seen a

blue hummingbird here before and never have since then. My Rosemary plant

blooms in the Spring, never in December! I had dreams, as well, that my mom and I

were in a beautiful place where every plant and living thing was covered in blue

flowers, haha. I know these things are my sister’s doing and they make me feel so

very, very loved.

A year or so later, I found a lovely blue feeder and now have a steady stream of

hummers year round at my house. Never any blue ones though, and as I write this,

one has just flown in to take a sip. Peace.

Dolly, I had the same experience when my mom passed, not a blue

hummingbird, but one that hovered outside the window everyday for weeks

after she passed. I know that when I see one, it’s her. Such a good feeling.

LOL never mind I just found it lol guess i was so enthralled with the

stories I’ve read that i wasn’t paying attention.I’m getting a tattoo done

in honor of my grandma she is 92 she loved humming birds and after

reading up on them i now know why i chose this bird. It describes her to

a T. She always had a saying….she’d say “Tara getting old is for the

birds” So I’m having that quote and the bird put on me so she will

forever be with me.

I have have a 5 experiences of having humming birds come into the house or the

place where I work . I have picked them up and walked them out the door to fly away

. It’s been a beautiful thing to hold them lightly and open my hands and watch them

buzz back into the wild .

One day in my freshman year of high school i found a small bird being attacked my

bees and ants. I felt so vad i got a piece of cloth and picked it up, the ants crawled

off and the bees left. I couldn’t just leave it there so i went to a pet shop and they

fed it and gave it back to me because their store was “full” of ither animals. I then

took it to the humane society and they nourished it to health. They told me it was a

hummingbird. Since then i feel a deep sense of happiness and joy whenever i see

one. Last friday i saw 2 hummingbirds next to each other they were still. Then my

crush walked by and he stopped to enjoy the view with me. We began to talk and he

expressed his feelings for me. That was the best moment ever. one of the

hummingbirds flew in a circle around me and the other flew around my crush. Then

they circled us both and flew away together. They really gave me the best show

ever.

I was attending the burial of a close friend’s grandpa and while everyone was

praying, a hummingbird flew up to his open casket and hovered over him for about

10 seconds and flew away. Everyone was amazed, and i felt like it was blessing him

or something, it was great.

I was told 3 years ago that Hummingbird is one of my Spirit totems… I have certainly

had a number of very cool, up close and personal interactions with them! My

husband and I camp…we have an old school bus, and when it is hot, we leave both

the back and front doors open…we took a nap one afternoon, and I awoke to the

sound of what i thought was the biggest bee about 2 inches from my nose…I

opened my eyes, slowly, and it was a hummingbird! On our bus, looking straight at

me! There are a number of them up at camp, and we always put out feeders for

them. This one was reminding me they needed refilling!

The following year, one got lost up in the highest corner of a merchant pavilion—

way up in the corner… It could feel air, but didn’t know how to get out….I sent a

couple of kids for the fullest feeder at my site, and then got the merchant (who was

frantic to get it out) to give me her clothing reach-hook (they are very long)… I

gently put it under its feet, so it could land… took a bit, but it got the idea. Once it

was on the hook, I slowly lowered it down, and got the feeder near it. It stepped from

the hook to the feeder, where it drank til I thought it was going to burst! we were still

half inside the pavilion, so I slowly put my finger near its feet…it stepped on my

finger!!!! I slowly walked out side, hummingbird on my finger, feeder in the other

hand, and stopped. It drank a little more, looked at me and flew off!







They still fly in and out of our camping pavilion, and they are wonderful to watch….

However…they DEFINITELY know how to stand their ground… they are very

territorial, and frequently fight over gets to eat when and which feeder opening!

I have dream a hummingbird down to a table. I new he was about to die, and i say

“please no!”. I think my mother was on my side, but she didnt believe untill the bird

move the wigs ona last time. On that last fly i put my hands together to hold it…and

it dies on my palms. I deeply cry and i woke up crying..it realy disturbing…and i don

migration due to weather not matching the seasonal pollination cycles. I feel

I want to say thank you thank you thank you to DR.CHECK more for everything so

far. To everyone who doesn’t believe in spell, I was one of those ones at first. I

wasn’t quite sure if I wanted to do this since I’ve tried others so-called spells casters

and they did not work and was a waste of my time and money. However, when I read

through the testimonials of other people at this website and after I talked osoba who

answered all my questions and was very nice about everything, I decided to give it a

RESIST BRINGING IT HOME. I COULDNT LEAVE IT TO GET RAN OVER. ITS IN

remember death is also a symbol of transition. It feels right to give the little

dead bird a worthy little ceremony in which you honour it’s life and magical

qualities. Reflect upon them and connect with them. Let the way this body

wants to be ‘put to rest’ come to you through intuition and carry the spirit of

It is against the law to possess a migratory bird without a federal and state

permit. You need to bury it. So, no honest taxidermist will touch it without

those papers and then you have to donate it to a school or institution or

museum

I came close to dying in the Arizona desert due to dehydration on my 40th birthday.

Quite a few animal encounters over 3 days with the final one being a pair of

hummingbirds lit on a bush branch next to my head as I lay in the sand prepared to

die. The blurry sight of them propped be up for one last try to find civilization.

Suddenly flocks of mourning doves come flying by, all going the same direction. I

followed and within a half hr or so made it to a house…barely.

They are messengers between the spirit world and the physical world. When we see

them to the pure essence of life.

My father passed away Sept. 4th after a long illness. Almost a week later my mom

and I were at my kitchen window when a hummingbird came – we have a feeder at

the window. It only took a sip of nectar from the far left window, and then hovered in

front of the other 2 windows. It hovered there, looking at us for over a minute – just

hovering. I found myself saying aloud “Goodbye little bird, have a safe flight”. As it

remained for such a long time the realization that it was more than just a little

hummingbird hit us both at the same time and we both felt my father’s presence so

strongly. It finally zipped away up into the sky. 3 days later on my mother’s birthday

the hummingbird came back for a brief few seconds. I called my mother on the

phone to tell her it was like daddy coming to wish a quick happy birthday to her. I

was only on the phone with her for 2 minutes and it again came back very quickly

while we were together on the phone. Meanwhile the next day my sister told me she

found a pin she had made for my aunt years ago which none of us had seen in

years. She found it in the room my father had passed away in. The pin was sitting

on top of the dresser – it was a pin with a hummingbird. She also went to show a

house that same day and in the dining room of this house was a china cabinet with

a large hummingbird in the design of the cabinet itself. Yesterday, she flipped open

a very old magazine that she had from 2003 that had not been thrown away. On the

page she flipped it open to was an advertisement for sheets, pillowcases and

bedspreads – the page was filled with hummingbirds. As she was telling me this

story, I happened to look up in my bedroom and saw the little hummingbird on the

chain for our fan which I had completely forgotten about. I truly believe my daddy is

communicating with us – letting us know he is alright, he is a better place now and

he’s at peace and with God.

I have always heard that if a bird appears at the time of death of a loved one,

it is assurance that all is well with the departed loved one.

Your daddy has shown yoou many signe, it is no coincidence.

It’s wonderful that he is so present around you.

This is very interesting. I’d be interested to know which culture this idea

came from. In September a hummingbird began appearing outside my

bedroom window. It would flit about for a minute or two and then leave.

This happened once a day over the course of several days. During this

time my beloved cat died unexpectedly and I was grieving. The

hummingbird continued to appear once a day for the next few days. I

looked forward to its arrival at my window as I dealt with my loss. Then

the hummingbird went MIA and I didn’t see it again until today (Nov 12,






2013). I don’t know what it means that it would suddenly reappear like

that. I also want to mention that at my father’s funeral in 2013, we didn’t

see a hummingbird, but as we stood graveside my sister pointed out a

lone seagull walking around the cemetery.

In the months before my father died in early 2006, I made him promise me – more

than once – that he would communicate with me in some way that life after death

existed, and that he was ok. He was more of a skeptic and tended to think that when

his body died, the lights went out and then nothing after that. I told him I believed

otherwise. He was an engineer, a man of science, and this would be our final grand

experiment together. 5 months later, while I was brooding about my father on the

steps of his cottage, a hummingbird landed on the branch of an arbutus tree about

2 feet away. I had never seen a hummingbird at rest before. It sat there for about 4

minutes, just staring at me, and I staring at it. It seemed fearless. When it finally flew

away, without thinking about what I was doing, I wandered into the house, and into

Dad’s walk-in closet where all of his clothes were. He had a little bowl full of loose

change, with bits and bobs that included a little orange campaign button. My father

ran a helicopter company called Okanagan Helicopters, whose stock listing symbol

was ‘OK’ and whose corporate logo was a hummingbird in flight. The button was

round and orange – orange being the company colors, and the button having once

been part of and ad campaign for Okanagan, or OK as it was sometimes called. On

the button was the corporate logo which appeared on every helicopter in the fleet –

a hummingbird in flight. Underneath the logo were the words: “ORANGE IS REALLY

OK”. The message was obvious. Today, I have hummingbirds in my yard from early

spring to early winter, and when I went to a hotel in another city recently, beautiful

paintings of hummingbirds adorned the walls. They follow me everywhere. And I

think of my father and our promise.

My father was terminaly ill and very close to death when unbenounced to everyone

he took his own life by shooting himself in the heart. Three weeks later, today, my

phone rang so I ran downstairs to get it, It was a very spiritual friend of mine and as

we were talking, I said Oh lord I can’t believe it there is a hummingbird right outside

my patio doors. I was in shock because I never saw a hummingbird in this area. He

said it was a sign. After looking up the symbolism, I realized that this was no

coincidence and the hummingbird appeared at the same time he was dying and

when we usually had our Friday afternoon chats. Now I know he is OK.N

I lost my mother to cancer on August 23rd after a 20 month courageous battle. About two

weeks before she passed, I saw a hummingbird outside my front porch for the first time ever,

just hovering. When it left I felt as thought I had a happy energy swept over mu body. The next

day we headed to our trailer where we seasonally camp on weekends.. Right before my eyes a

hummingbird was there, it stayed and continued to fly over our site. I bought a feeder the next

day and she was there more often than not. When we got back I told my mom I’d been

surrounded in hummingbirds over the last few days and that I thought it was a message from

above letting me know all would be ok when my mom passed… After my mom passed I hadn’t

seen it for a bit until one day, I was sitting with my dad at his kitchen table discussing how hard

these days had been without my mom when all of a sudden a beautiful hummingbird, sat on a

branched and just watched us for a while before flying away. Later that evening after dinner,

when my brother and his girlfriend and the whole family was sitting at the table chatting, she

came back and this time stayed longer and let us watch… At that very moment we all knew my

mom was in peace, safe and in a better place. I can’t wait until my next visit.

Thank you for this post about the humming bird as a totem. I have seen them

before, but never in my own yard. I am living with negativity and was talking on the

phone today with a friend about how I needed to love myself in the midst of the

negativity around me, and a hummingbird showed up on my deck at a potted pinjk

geranium plant. I will take this as a reminder to lift all negativity up so that I stay

solidly in the love of my own being. Keep the faith folks!

On Sunday morning Sept 8 2013 my seventy birthday I was in my back yard with my

great granddaughter Lily when a hummingbird landed on head in shock I reach out

with my hand to remove it. Thank you God for the hummingbird for the sign my wife

is in stage 3 disease.

Hi Bill, I recently lost my sister to the ugly C word and had not seen a

Hummingbird in my back yard at all – the day after her funeral, one of these

little creatures came right up to my face and stopped…I thought of my sister

immediately..within the next week I had a hummingbird feeder..she and her

friends are now here almost every day…and guess what I named the little

female? Lily…so when I read this…I knew I had to share…I hope I did not

make you sad about my sister passing because of cancer, everyone is

different. I just really wanted to share this with you..May the Lord be with you

I am feeling so blessed & comforted right now…Recently I have been shown a different &

healthier perspective on life which in turn has encouraged me to make necessary changes in

my life. I’ve forgiven myself for the mistakes I have made, taking my life back & loving myself for

the first time….I have found who I am. I faced my demons & people who have wronged me, I

have expressed my apologies to those I have taken for granted and giving love to them…since

I love myself now, I know how to love others the right way. I am so happy today, because I am

learning to let the baggage from my past go, that had been holding me down for so long. It

wouldn’t let me go & let me be me…I am now free from it & feel so blessed…I still have rough

days when I am hurt & am sad thinking of the people I have wronged on my journey thus far…I

need comfort during these times to remind myself that I’m not alone & I am worthy. For I am only

human, I make mistakes & do feel emotions like anyone would. That is when I want reassurance

from those who I have wronged & who have wronged me that I am worthy of love, as they are

as well… that’s why we have each other. But sometimes we need reminded by God that we

aren’t in control of the future, He is. Today that happened to me…I was on the phone

expressing hurt, love & concern to someone I care for with all my heart & soul.. I was worrying &

in fear of being hurt again, while expressing these fears on the phone, I was crying a little,

feeling fear of the unknown & smoking a cigarette on my back patio, when out of nowhere a

hummingbird flew right up to my face almost touching my nose, then immediately flew back into

the woods behind my house. It stopped my tears & fears instantly. It was truly amazing, as if the

bird was consoling me & calming my fears. I was so excited & happy instantly telling the person

on the phone what I had just experienced. I then looked up the Hummingbird Spirit Animal

Meaning…I was in even more amazement after reading the meaning of this beautiful creature &

what it symbolizes. I wanted to share this beautiful experience with fb even if it may seem

Likewise! I was bummin really hard today- my 6 yr old son is across the

country & last nightI had to break up with a really great, but totally

untrustworthy guy. I prayed for comfort, and literally a half hour later, a

beautiful hummingbird came out of nowhere & stared me in the eyes

numerous times. It lifted my soul like I couldn’t believe, so I did the

same thing Feeling SO much gratitude!

I have seen hummingbirds before; but this is the first time that I have had a spiritual

awakening.

My husband was admitted to the hospital on July 23 with a 105 fever. The diagnosis

– kidney infection, kidney stones and sepsis which is a serious blood infection.

He almost died. He was in the hospital for three and a half weeks. After that he was

in medical rehab for another three weeks.

During that time, in the mornings I would have a cup of coffee and waiting on our

dog to finish up being outside.

I would also say quietly to myself – the Serenity prayer.

“God grant me the serenity to accept the things that I cannot change. The courage

One morning, I saw a hummingbird. The next day I saw the hummingbird. A week

later when he was still in the hospital, I saw the hummingbird again.

I posted onto Facebook, that I saw the hummingbird the second time. The third time

that I saw the hummingbird, I posted again to Facebook, that I saw the hummingbird.

I added that God is in control.

When my husband went to medical rehab; a chaplain would come by his room every

day to visit and to pray.

One day, I was in the room when the chaplain came by. I mentioned to the chaplain

my hummingbird experience.

Outside of my husband’s room, was a garden with flowers and you were able to go

out to the garden and sit.

When I finished telling the chaplain about the hummingbirds, he was looking

outside.

The chaplain said look – there is a hummingbird.

A couple of days later – I had some errands to run. I drove by a church.

On the billboard out front of the church – the sign said “God is in control.”

As I was driving back home – the other side of the billboard in front of the church

said “God is in control.” “Really”

Yes, God — I hear you.

From your signs on the billboard to the hummingbird. You are in control.

Thank you, God!

My husband is back home and is resting. Thank you, God for the hummingbird, for

the sign, and for the peace that you have given to me through this trying time.

My son passed away june 1st & ever since I’ve had a hummingbird that sits in

the tree & watches me I’ve gone & bought feeders I kinda feel comforted by

it’s presence like in some form it represents my son being near
