The west side of Cincinnatihas many excellent schools, bothpublic and private. Among them,St. Aloysius Gonzaga inBridgetown truly stands out.

It has been educating and nur-turing children in their faith forwell over 100 years and contin-ues to offer a combination ofchallenging academics, fully-inte-grated technology and strongCatholic values.

Yet what is heard often aboutthe school is that families feelwelcome, comfortable andaccepted.

“My daughter was in third

grade elsewhere when we decid-ed to change schools,” said par-ent Toni Brennan. “When I visit-ed, I was immediately impressedby the atmosphere at St. Al’s. It isso centered around the children. As we visited classrooms, teach-ers were welcoming and the stu-dents were unbelievably polite.”

That strong first impressionled the Brennans to enroll theirdaughter, despite the fact thatthey commute every day fromCleves.

“We really like the small sizeand family-oriented environmentat St. Al’s,” said Brennan.

Principal JimLeisring said that a sig-nificant number offamilies have chosenSt. Al’s over other, clos-er options.

“There’s somethingdifferent here that peo-ple notice right away;it’s a feeling of accept-ance and belonging,”he said.

In addition, the school’s smallsize and dedicated teachers cre-ate a challenging academic envi-ronment. Math scores are in thetop 10 percent in the nation.
