GENERAL Holiday Inn ® Ixtapa is one of the newest 5 Star De Luxe hotel in Ixtapa, Mexico, an enjoyable destination. This hotel was finished in April 2005 and due to personal and family concerns the owners have decided to sell it though they have put a lot of effort to open it. Ixtapa is located on La Costa Grande of the state of Guerrero fronting the Pacific Ocean about 240 kilometers (144 miles) northwest of Acapulco. Both Acapulco and Morelia are about 4 hours driving time from Ixtapa and the greater area of Zihuatanejo. Zihuatanejo is a town with family-run guest inns, luxury boutique hotels, condominiums, and vacation lodgings that overlook the bay and beaches as well as the homes, apartments, stores, shops, and businesses that make up its thriving community.

Ixtapa is a government-planned vacation resort area. The hotels and condominiums in Ixtapa along the main beach are mostly high-rises. Lovely luxury homes, condominiums and vacation accommodations also surround the golf courses and the marina as well as the hillsides and smaller beaches. RECENT WEATHER CONDITIONS AND THE HOTEL The hotel was not affected by recent hurricane season that destroyed other hotels and facilities in Mexico.

BUSINESS STRATEGY The hotel’s business strategy is based on its access to information sources from Holiday Inn regarding tourism inflow to Mexico and on its direct marketing model. Direct marketing model seeks to identify market requirements in advance to allocate rooms and to approach customers offering a comprehensive service and custom-built amenities and facilities for businesspersons. MARKET Clients range from corporate executives to tourists. Sales and Marketing personnel is prepared to deal with reservations ranging from a single night to extended and multiple ones, and has the ability to quickly react to rapid market variations involving different customer characteristics such as age and groups.

INFRA-STRUCTURE Employees: As of the date of this document the hotel had 105 employees. There are 6 officers in managerial positions, the rest in direct operations. The Company has never experienced a work stoppage due to labor difficulties and believes that its employee relations are excellent. From the Airport :

The Ixtapa-Zihuatanejo airport is located 7 miles south of Zihuatanejoand a taxi will run you around $15 to $20 USD depending on yourdestination. You will also find a ticket counter near the baggage claimarea which sell seats on minivans (Colectivos) that will transport peopleto their hotels in Ixtapa and Zihuatanejo for around $4 to $7 USD.

By Bus :

There is a bus station in Zihuatanejo across from the IMSS hospital onPaseo Zihuatanejo. Tickets are cheap and the busses are far better thananything you will find in the US (speaking of the first class busses). FromMexico City the trip is 9 hours, from Puerto Vallarta 12 to 13 hours, andaround 4.5 from Acapulco.
