Presentaon Day I would like to thank everyone who aended the Presentaon Day last Thursday at our school. I have received many posive comments about how everyone enjoyed the occasion! Congratulaons to the award winners from each class. I would like to highlight the following students who received the following special awards: Dux (Academic Excellence) – Ruby Efraemson & Mahew Brooks; Triad Award (for Scholarship, Sportsmanship & Cizenship) – Kye Kelly & Lauren Barry; Senior Sports Awards Taj Shears & Lillyan Pos; Junior Sports Awards Sam Patmore & Mia Jones; School Captains for 2018 Allie Mae Cook, Halle Constable, Jorge Constable & Talon De Heaume. I would like to recognise the hard work of those students, who did not receive an award, however sll strived to achieve their personal best, display outstanding leadership, iniave, co- operaon and dedicaon to our school. End of Year / Beginning of Next Year Dates Just a final reminder, school for the students ends on Friday, 15 December for 2017. Children from Years 1 - 6 will commence on Tuesday, 30 January. Kindergarten children will complete their Best Start Assessment from Tuesday 30 January – Thursday 1 February and will commence school proper on Monday, 5 February. Mrs Hextell will join Mrs Murphy, Mrs Osgood and Mr George in assisng Mrs Hodge commence the school year as smoothly as possible. Mr Jesse French will be leaving our staff as he explores other opportunies in teaching. Mr French is a talented teacher and will be an asset to any school he works in. He will definitely be missed at Narooma PS. Mr Ben Neich will be joining our staff in 2018. Mr Neich has recently been working at Ulladulla PS and is moving into our area. We welcome Mr Neich and his family to our school and community Mrs Bridget Mullany will also be joining our staff in 2018 as it appears from early accounts that the school will require another class. A demountable building is being sited near the amphitheatre as I write this and Mrs Mullany is expected to take the extra class created. Fingers crossed we hold the numbers early next year. Presentation Day

I would like to thank everyone who attended the Presentation Day last Thursday at our school. I have received many positive comments about how everyone enjoyed the occasion!

Musical Showcase

On Thursday, 14 December, students will be performing for the School to showcase Miss Garcia's Music Program this year.

Acts will include pieces on the glockenspiel, recorder and flute, Senior Band, Choir, Christmas Carols, nursery rhymes, and more! Due to time constraints our Junior Band and Year 6 Eagles and Penguins will not be performing this year.

This is a free event and will begin at 12.00 until approximately 1.30pm. Parents are welcome to attend.

Free Family Fishing Clinic for Kids - Rob Paxevanous

Fishing Australia’s, Rob Paxevanous and his daughter Hailey, will be hosting a fishing skills clinic specifically designed for children, at Corrigans Beach Reserve Batehaven from at 9am.

Council is supporting the Family Fishing Day which is aimed at helping local children master some skills in an outdoor activity that Eurobodalla is famous for.

First up will be a talk by Rob and why he continues to return to Eurobodalla with his family to enjoy our pristine waterways, in particular the mighty Clyde River, which he describes as one of the best fishing destinations in Australia.

There will be a question and answer session, a FREE copy of Hailey’s bestselling book ‘Kids Fishing’ for each family who attends and practical hands on sessions where children can bring along a rod and put their newly learned skills into practice. Every child who tosses in a line will also go into the draw to win a Fishing Australia Prize Pack.

Narooma Public School Breakfast Club needs

Volunteers are needed to help out at our Breakfast Club 8:30-9:30am once a week.

Breakfast club runs every morning, Monday - Friday during term time, and serves approx. 60 with fruit, cereal and milk to make sure every child receives a healthy and nutritious start to

their day.

Narooma Carols By Candlelight Sunday 17th Dec. located at NATA Oval for a 7pm start.

Come along to an evening that will get you into the spirit of Christmas.

Lots of local talent, including the Rhythm Hunters & a visit from Santa Claus.

Bring rugs & chairs to settle in & enjoy the show.

Performance at Club Muso

On Friday, the 8th of December students from Narooma Primary school performed at Club Muso.

Jade Wilson sung 'Skinny Love,' and 'True Colours.' She also performed 'Stairway to Heaven,' with Bray Constable on the guitar. The students performed at an outstanding level and did the school proud. Other students performed with the accompaniment of Tara Moore, one of our afterschool piano teachers.

Djembe Forte show cased a set of their West African songs on the Djembe, which the crowd really enjoyed.

Thank you to all the students, parents and teachers involved in the performances for Club Muso last week.
