“ Which is more important the Individual or the State”
In 500-800 words, write a response to your research and participation in the Stanislavski workshops, which demonstrates how Jean Anouilh’s “Antigone” explores this question.
Areas you might like to look at – Creon – Which does Creon see as more important – State or
individual? Why? Does that make him a Greek tragic hero? Antigone – Which is more important to Antigone – State or
individual? Why? Is she a tragic hero? Ismene and Haemon - which do they feel is more important? Chorus – How does Jean use the chorus to explore this
question?
